Gutekunst likely needs assistance from an expert in choosing quality D players. He is the common denominator & has heavily invested Draft capital in most of the individual D players. 90 % have not lived up to their Draft expectations.
I would include Q. Walkert, D. Savage, R. Gary, P. Smith, LVN, Stokes, Alexander. Then there are other non first-rounders such as Nixon, MacDuffie, Slayton, etc. who are not contributing enough. Nixon is not a corner.
Packers will have to re-invest again in the D but I really don't trust Gutekunst with these choices. Too much waste of draft capital and $$.
I have many concerns about Bissaccia as well and even more concerns about LaFleur waiting too long to replace him.

They need some high IQ ( or football smart ) defensive players. Nixon , Walker in particular. Hafley better pick it up. We don’t play Tennessee again this season.

I can't think of 1 Defensive player who stands out-who is a consistent play-maker, someone who can tackle effectively, who also reads the game well.
I really don't think Gutekunst should be in charge of choosing good D players-most are soft, lack intensity and/or intelligence.
I did enjoy Rasul Douglas. I would like more Clay Mathews, AJ Hawk types.
He seems to choose receivers fairly well, though. And Malik was a steal.

Rally’s usually fall short when you are down 28 zip. Obviously we have to turn the page. More concerning is the strength of the NFC. Several perennial doormats look better. The Packers look … well .500ish.
It’s early, luckily. But against two quality NFC teams they have been slapped around. And speaking of quality NFC teams.. that’s 3 in a row that Jordan Love has had multiple turnovers, dumb decisions and ultimately losses to. He’s 10-10 as a starter at $220 million. Is that today’s NFL?
A new kicker isn’t the only thing this team needs. They need soft opponents, and some new players on defense as well.

I am going to give a pass to Jordan because I don't think he had the ability to push off his injured leg while throwing. His throws were weaker, with less zip.
The kicker should be fired.

I'm more shocked how the vikes built up this pass d, defensive line over night and found a fill in QB that's lighting it up.
Must be the willingness to import talent, move around in the draft to get your guy and know what guys can play.
Sitting pat and taking d guys at the end of the first and not questioning Why did 26 other teams pass on this guy - stokes, Alexander.
Gutt is terrible. He took Gary and passed on future hofs who were available. Why, he said Gary can play more then one position.
I'd take tj watt who can really play one position and play it well

I read that Flores looked for defensive vets who had experience and then he apparently coached them to understand all of the D positions. He then moved them around, up and down, mixed DB's w/edge rushers and is able confuse offenses & bring a misdirection.
