How about extending Aaron's contract and bring him back see where Love is at meaning if he can be a starter then you sit Aaron and play Love see if Aaron retires and if not just trade him

My very basic understanding is this: Aaron has 3 years on his contract right now. The Packers need an extension to spread out the cap hits of 2021 and 2022, but they want to structure it in a way where they can move on to Love if he is any good. That is why Aaron is pissed. He wants more guaranteed money and more years. There is middle ground between the two positions, perhaps, but not a middle ground that both sides are willing to accept.

I think the bottom line for Rodgers is that he is coming up on 38-years-old and he just won an MVP award. He many never win one again. He may never win a Super Bowl again. So his market value is never going to be greater than it is right now. If he can force a trade right now he can probably find some team that is willing to give him a five year deal with a boatload of guaranteed money. More money and more years than the Packers were willing to give him. For him, if he is going to add more years and more guaranteed money, no time like the present. Literally.
