While I have always been a Packers fan, I am NOT sad that "Tae has gone away" (it seems I am a poetic?). My attitude towards him changed 180 degrees when he said he would sit out if tagged at $20Mil. Poor, underpaid lad that he would be - NOT!

It doesn't take a masters degree to know that Rodgers' ridiculous contract was going to cause issues for the team. But Adams was pissed because GB didn't open the vault during the season and offer him what he wanted? Was Tae so ignorant to think that GB wouldn't negotiate hard to pay him what he wanted - $30Mil? So, he folds his tent and settles for $28.5Mil with a team in the toughest division in football?

PREDICTION: Adams will NOT be an instant super star WR in year 1 or 2 with Vegas for a # of reasons: (1) Carr has more legitimate targets than Rodgers had in GB, (2) the Vegas OLine is not good and Carr will have a problem standing upright, (3) he will be playing against far better competition in the AFC West and (4) Carr is not of the calibre of Rodgers.

I expect that by year 3 of this contract something will give - he will either be moved, become injured or be forced to accept a lower contract. But, I suppose in his world, he will have the "status" of being the highest paid WR for a period of time with a fat bank account. Tae, you can't take it with you - nor can you easily find another AROD to throw you the rock!

Left unsaid is Adams will be playing for Josh McDaniels, hardly the 'player friendly' coach Matt LF is. When Adams puts forward attitude, it might have a different response than Matt LF.

Plus he's playing in what is now, arguably, the toughest division in the NFL.
He won't have the middling or cupcake teams behind the Packers in the NFC North.

I don't criticise players for going where they want to go. Neither do i hold it against a player trying to get maximum money in a contract.

When interviewed, Davante came over as an exceptionally smart guy, not some ignorant as gpt999 portrays him. I wish him all the best in Vegas with Carr. It's clear he wanted to be in Vegas after he bought property there.

The deal seems to have made almost everyone happy (not at all easy to do). Raiders get their top receiver and their fans are stoked. Packers got $20m more money to sign some of the guys they otherwise couldn't (like Rasul Douglas, and MVS). They got two very valuable draft picks as well.............. and it seems most Packer fans think it was a good move too.

It doesn't matter if Adams is a superstar in Vegas or not. He has the security of a huge contract and the respect that goes with that and he is with his old buddy. Don't hate on a guy who was stellar as a Packer, just because he is somewhere else now.

I do when a team goes all- in. There are lots of Pawn shops in LV. He can sell his Packer stuff. He'll never win a ring.
