It sure would be nice to have a defensive line with Reggie White, Santa Dotson, Gilbert Brown, and Sean Jones like we had for Brett in 96. Of course they were an integral part of the number one defense in the NFL that year.
I just think we need some "MEAN" on our defensive line; someone like the Steelers had in Joe Green who was a guy that grabbed the "feared" Dick Butkus by the jersey and spit in his face after a play.
Kenny Clark is a pro bowl caliber defensive lineman who is double teamed on most all plays. It's now on Gute's back to come up with at least one above average addition in free agency to improve that group and I would hope at least a day two defensive lineman in the draft who doesn't become another disappointment.
Just my 2 cents.

Vikings signed DT Dalvin Tomlinson, formerly of the Giants, to a two-year, $22 million contract.

Yes, this was literally mentioned in the chat.

Tomlinson is a good player. Too bad the vikings signed him...they signed both FA DT that I really liked for that Packers. Last year with Michael Pierce and this year with Tomlinson.
As for being mentioned in the chat. I know in my case due to limited time, I skim through articles and comments and (unfortunately) don't often have time to listen to the video chats. Hope that changes in the near future when I retire and have more time !!!

Our weaknesses?
We don't have to look any farther than the offensive line right now, because despite having Rodgers and Adams and Jones and MVS and Lazard and Tonyan and Dillon......we're not going to be successful on offense unless we get our O-line together.
At Left Tackle, we've got Bakhtiari, except he's going to miss the opener and some more games....we're hoping he'll be ready by the middle of the season.
We've got two vet starters returning from last year, although probably at new positions. It is entirely possible that we'll have new starters at every position on the line . Patrick, who started some games last year, is a probable starting guard at this point.
So there's a lot of work to be done and I think we need some more horses. I wouldn't want to spend all offseason working with a unit that would need to be completely reshuffled when Bakhtiari returns, so I'd probably go with Runyan and LT, Turner at LG, Jenkins at C, Patrick at RG and a Day Two rookie at RT.
That doesn't leave any proven performer as a backup in case of injures, and people do get injured.
IMO, it's the only fatal weakness. IF the line blocks, Rodgers & Co. will move the ball and score points. IF they don't, and Rodgers gets hit and hurt, it could be a long season.

I was only going to give you a thumbs up and a thumbs down - but I cant. I know that we might miss Bak at the start of the season - but maybe not and I do not know if there has been an update on him. But if and when he is back we have pretty well the same Oline as Linsely missed time and we do have some guys coming along Stempaniuk and Njimom. The key is going to be that AR will need not to hold the ball and the scheme needs to be geared that way. Now the Oline cannot be as porous as KC's was in the Superbowl. Now the real key is going to be the Defense. If we need AR to score on every possession because we cannot get off the field - that will be an issue. So we need Preston to return to past standard. We need out interior Linebackers to improve and we really need to get some young fast linebacker / corners to come in. And of course help on the Dline - Maybe Preston adds weight and moves inside and we draft more outside guys. But sometimes it is easier to get some weight on the inside like Snacks and harder to get outside linebackers that move. As far as Dbacks we need to draft there but Hayward might have a little left in the tank and help train guys like Tramon did. So basically unless some bad luck befalls us and that includes of course not updating our offense ( MM's trait was not updating because teams adapt to shut down what you did the year before) we should be ok on offense. We just need more stops on defense and need to stop playing rope a dope with teams.
