That is the one thing that I was meaning to say but forgot - when selecting a Dback the thing that we have missed a great many times is the one- on -one tackling machine. If there is one thing that many other teams have is that guy on the outside that makes the tackle on those swing passes or sweeps when they come up to tackle. Not sure if that is an attribute that is selected - definitely not something that is measured at the combine etc like short shuttle, speed , number of bench press reps etc. One of Da Bears bloggers did an analysis of missed tackles - cant find the info myself but - would like to see it -https://dabearsblog.com/2020/advanced-defensive-stats-tackling - for us. As far as blocking goes with our receivers - most of them do it well Lazard - Lewis - Tonyon and Sternberger too many missed and holding penalties and should be a focus for improval. And of course everybody remembers the Kamara run against us where we set the record for whiffing.

Only blocking and tackling? Right. And life is only drinking and gabbing.

Football is two things: Superduper WRs and flashy edge rushers.

Yeah, that was sarcasm.

I read an interview w/ Steelers coach about all their WR hits in the Draft. He said well the first thing we look at is can they catch the ball. Pretty logical place to start for a players base skillset. Let's hope we follow suit there in the future. #1-catch % rate is sound- CHECK
I only bring this up because they have 2 of our players: Watt and Claypool.
