Packers Playbook: Running the "Willis Playbook" with Love at QB
Dusty Evely from ACME Packing Company and Packers legend John Kuhn show how the Packers are leaning into some of the run game concepts that worked so well with Malik Willis under center earlier in the season.

Great insights, again. So cool to have Kuhn back analysing run games. Keep on going!

A keen eye for the obvious.
Shifting to the run game in a hurry and in a panic!
Drafting all of College Football’s leader in interceptions – what was to be expected but all of the NFL’s leader in interceptions!
The little man – “Gutey” - who never was in the arena in any meaningful way is only in football management due to the nepotic door opening of his father -destroyed what was a Super Bowl bound team with that April 2020 drafting.
And now?
$75 million guaranteed signing bonus already banked while screwing yet another TRUE PERFORMINING Veteran 7 year consistent loyal Aaron Jones – over a paltry $1 million dollars - who could have been paired with the great Jacobs to preserve both’s careers and lead the Packers to the 2024-25 Super Bowl.
Much like disrespect and disparagement of Nelson, Cobb, Matthews, Davante, MVS (saved the Chiefs Super Bowl hopes in both AFC championships and now starring for the Saints), Matthews, Preston Smith (sack and 3 tackles in his 1st Steeler game in just 23 snaps); Mercedes Lewis (long side line reception and then TD catch), Allen Lazard (several key catches, runs and blocks), Jarran Reed (strip sack with Packers trailing 20 to 10) and Rasul Douglas 4 veterans who all saved Packer Christmas in Miami December 25, 2022, LESS THAN 2 YRS AGO – I know I travelled to that game and cheered my ass off with a host of other Wisconsin visitors, bringing the cold to Miami, one of the coldest days in Miami history !!!!
This guy – poor over his head Jordan - is no Aaron Rodgers – College Power 5 Conference star taking Cal to near the top, Super Bowl Winner and Super Bowl MVP, 4 time MVP, 4 Time Passer Rating/Passer Title winner – i.e. TD %, Interception %, Yards per attempt %, and importantly COMPLETION PERCENTAGE – passing accuracy!!!
There is good reason Lafleur is moving to the run, as he did last year when he realized the RISK OF LOVE!
Cheer Jordan, Boo “Gutey” out of Lambeu and out of the Packers organization – he cratered a multiple Super Bowl bound team and now has the Packers desperately relying on one over worked running back Jacobs to carry the flailing, failing poor QB, who has been over his head since the moment he was ridiculously drafted where he was by destroying of team chemistry and camaraderie and veteran leadership that every team needs to get over the hump and into the Super Bowl.
Gutey, the SMALL MAN with the big ego who knows the value of nothing and the cost of everything – the NFL 31 blood sucking owners’ man in Green Bay, squeezing life out of the team and profits out of the gladiators and fans while delivering an inferior overall 32 team NFL product – they nothing about their franchises quality of play on the field and winning and only about creating DRAMA, CONFLICT and EYEBALLS and $$$$$ bills.

SusieQ,
Aaron Rodgers' football career is all but over.
Take some solace in knowing that when he retires, he won't be like some retired NFL players and open a car dealership or insurance agency- and that's not just because he's fantastically wealthy. It's also because you have to be a likeable human being to sell cars and insurance.

He lost all of his national advertising gigs. Now he's going to take Davante down with him. Taco Bell gonna close up that window in his Las Vegas abode.
Discount double check that out.

Over the last 4 games Aaron Rodgers has thrown 7 TDs and thrown 0 interceptions and has a passer rating of 102.9.
Over the last 4 games Jordan Love has thrown 3 TDs and thrown 3 interceptions and has a passer rating of 88.4.
Set aside the NFL/Packers media propaganda and hysteria and let those facts settle in when watching and analyzing Thursday Thanksgiving night’s game.
I know it is hard for the Owners of the USA and NFL and their mouthpieces, Trump, Biden/Harris, etc., Gutekunst, etc, and in turn their propagandists to deal with people like Rodgers and Robert Saleh - the only Muslim head coach in the history of the NFL, fired by Big Pharma and USA ambassador to the UK Woody Johnson 2 days after wearing the Lebanese flag on his left arm during London Viking game and post game press conference - simultaneous with the Owners of the USA's supplied proxy Israel's relentless bombing of Lebanon - and others who speak TRUTH TO POWER - i.e. Big Pharma and Imperialist war profiteers.
That said TRUTH and REALITY is TRUTH and REALITY, be it regarding Saleh, Big Pharma, imperialist capitalism, or a 4 time MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 4 time Passing Title winner relative to the NFL leader in interception percentage and the QB that led all of College football in throwing interceptions.
Thankfully the Packers show GREAT CHARACTER through the humble and competent coach Lafleur who brought in his friend Saleh and respects and recognizes that Veteran Players can do more in terms of leadership and understanding both on the field and in the locker room than Lafleur or any other coach or GM that has never been in the heat of battle on an NFL field could ever do. And the Veteran NFL players respect Lafleur because Lafleur has earned that respect.
Gutekunst has earned no players respect and rightfully so - the Packers players despise him and recognize him for who he is. An insecure pompous impetuous impatient petulant brat.

Normally, I'd just assume you're another twat just projecting your own feelings about Gutekunst and plastering them on other people (the players) without any sound evidence to come to your conclusion, but I figure Dick-theBruiser-Afflis is probably a stand up guy, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and ask you for your quick summary of evidence, concrete or circumstantial, that leads you to your stated synopsis that the Packers players despise Gutekunst, none respect him, and the believe him to be "an insecure pompous impetuous impatient petulant brat."
Waiting with bated breath,

Finally some Packers followers are finally seeing the real problem in Green Bay - The GM. Poor drafting....

Let's dive into the Gutekunst "problem"...
Since Gutekunst became GM in 2018, the Packers record is 70-39, or 64.2%
During Ted Thompson's tenure, the Packers record was 125-82 or 60.4%
During Ron Wolf's tenure, the Packers record was 92-52 or 63.9%
I'm trying to come up with a nice way to say this, but all I can come up with is you don't know what the f*ck you're talking about. Like usual.

Deduct Rodgers and Adams 13-3, 13-3, 13-4 and Rodgers 3-1 before he broke his thumb from that 70 and 39 - Rodgers and Adams are not a product of Gute.
That makes Gute 28 wins and 28 losses.
With Gute's literal Love at starting QB the Packers were 10 wins and 10 losses coming into this year, including the 2 playoff games - only a year removed from Rodgers and Adams 13-3, 13-3, 13-4 and 3-1 with Adamsless 2022-23 Packers until the Rodgers broke his thumb
This year the Packers with Gute's Love at QB are officially 6 wins and 3 wins though we all know the Willis pulled out the Jaguar game after Love threw yet another game changing interception and bailed with another owwee - this time groin strain - and the Rams Texans and 49ers were all without key starters and Bears and Texans games won on low probability miracles.
The Packers with Love as starter this year should be considered 5 wins and 3 losses with Malik 3 wins and 0 losses.
And Love's 5 win 3 record could just as easily been 2 wins and 6 losses if the Packers and Luck did not carry and save Jordan and eke out last second victories. I am not even sure the Packers would have beat the 49ers - 13 of the 22 49ers starters from the January Divisional round game did not play - 9 due to injury and they will return.

What an idiotic response. Apparently, only Rodgers and Adams contributed to those seasons. Gutekunst didn't draft ANY players that contributed. Actually, he totally rebuilt those teams as they were clearly on the decline after TT's horrible drafts from '15-'17.
Just curious Dick, or SusieQ, or whatever your name is....who's fault was it when Rodgers choked in the playoffs in all 3 of those years?
What's Rodgers playoff record again after the 2010 season? I'd be happy to look it up for you.

Come back to me in 20 years if Jordan is the longest tenured Packer in the history of what will then be 120+ year Packer history and Jordan has led the Packers to more NFC conference playoff games - 21 - over a 15 year career as Packer starter - than any other NFC QB during that same time period - and when Jordan has carried the Packers to a Super Bowl win and Jordan has won the NFL MVP 4 times and the NFL passing title 4 times.
Right now we have the QB that led all of College football in interceptions - both FCS and FBS - and SURPRISE SURPRISE is now leading the entire NFL in interceptions and finished 26th in passing accuracy last year and this year is even further down at the very bottom.
And here is the current performance of the "rising star" and the 41 year old man:
Over the last 4 games Aaron Rodgers has thrown 7 TDs and thrown 0 interceptions and has a passer rating of 102.9.
Over the last 4 games Jordan Love has thrown 3 TDs and thrown 3 interceptions and has a passer rating of 88.4.

Lose your DELUSIONS and "Gutey" or you and all of us Packer fans will be very verry disappointed.

Since GB moved on from Rodgers, their overall record is 17-11, with a trip to the divisional round of the playoffs last year and are on track to make the playoffs again this year. All with the youngest team in the league.
Since the NYJets brought Rodgers (and all his buddies) to their team:
A lost 2023 year (7-10, no playoffs)
A, thus far, 2024 3-8 record. Fired their HC. Fired their GM.
An overall 10-18 record, continuing the longest current playoff drought in the NFL.
A front office in disarray. No clue who their QB will be next year.
But you keep focusing on those last 4 games worth of stats.

DTB; Rodgers is washed. We squeezed the last good football out of him and then unloaded him for two second round picks. Our new QB has a MUCH better future than him.
This was good management.
I hope there's some GM out there who thinks that Willis is better than Love, and offers to trade a first round pick for him.
We're headed to a 9-3 record as we go into the home stretch.

I could only listen to the game, but I was very interested in this running stuff because I heard John Kuhn telling Wayne and Larry how excited he was about what the Packers were doing and that no one else was. Now I see what he was talking about! This analysis is awesome! Thanks for the breakdown explanations.

Yep NJ-Rick, the Truth is apparent to most of us long time Packer fans and Gutekunst's and the NFL's media/propaganda arms are not fooling us.
Lafleur is shifting heavily to the run for good reason – Lafleur, like last season, is smart enough to see that Jordan does not have it.
Gutekunst created the original problem by drafting Jordan far above his value – the little man, the nepotic “Gutey” was insecure in his postion, knowing he was not deserving of the GM position – decided he would try to copy Wolf and Thompson with the moves to secure Favre and Rodgers, hoping such moves would elevate he – “Gutey” – to the earned and respected NFL status of Wolf and former NFL linebacker Thompson.
The trouble and problem was and is that Favre and Rodgers had shined in college at their relatively small Power 5 schools by beating BIG TIME college powers like Alabama and USC. In a triple-overtime game, Rodgers passed for 217 yards and three touchdowns, leading Cal to a win over the then-number three ranked USC. This was Cal's first win over a top-five team since 1975. Favre led Southern Miss to an early September 1990 win over Alabama after losing 30 inches of intestine in a car crash in July. Can you imagine Favre ever leaving a game with a grade 2 MCL sprain or a groin strain? In Jordan’s big time game against LSU Joe Burrow and LSU blew him out 42-6.
Gutekunst – whose future NFL career now depended on the success of Love - compounded the problem by letting Jordan HOLD HIS FEET OVER THE FIRE by euphemistically “holding in” (i.e Holding out!) and forcing Gutekunst – for no reason than Gute’s own reputation – to give Jordan and NFL RECORD $75 MILLION DOLLAR GUARANTEED signing bonus – now in Jordan’s bank account. There was no reason – other than the selfishness of Gute to save his football management (be it NFL or college) career and reputation - to do so as Jordan was nothing but an UNPROVEN half year wonder and was under contract therough the entire 2024-25 season.
I was relieved and thought Gutey had come to his sense when he decided not to exercise the 5th year option for Jordan and renogiate. That sense of relief was quickly gone this summer with another blunder from the impetuous, imprudent, impatient, petulant Gute.
At least the Giants with the idiotic signing of Daniel Jones could point to the fact that Jones had played 4 years as a starter and led the Giants to their first playoff in 2022 in 6 years and had won their first playoff game since 2011.
With Jordan - and his benefactor Gutey, whose career now relies on Love succeeding and will thus hang in till the bitter end and go down with the ship - the Packers have gone from a 13-3, 13-3, 13-4 on the brink of a Super Bowl an MVP led team to a QB that was 10 wins and 10 losses – including playoffs – coming into this season and this season is 6 wins and 3 losses and 1 of those 6 wins is owed to Malik and the other Packer players overcoming Jordan’s boneheaded plays and poor throws and Rams, Texans, Bears and 49ers 4 wins owed to luck and/or the teams being without key starters as was true of the win last year over the Cousin less Vikings and Stafford less Rams.
Jordan could easily have been 1 win and 7 losses (I am giving the Jaguars win to Malik) this year without the divine intervention of Brooks middle finger and rookie Evan Williams (Rams game stop after Jordan attempted to give the game away with a pick 6 that rivaled the bone headed 49er interceptions in the Divisional round) and the injury Gods.

" the nepotic “Gutey” was insecure in his postion, knowing he was not deserving of the GM position – decided he would try to copy Wolf and Thompson"
And yet, Gutekunst's teams have a better winning percentage than either of them...64.2/63.9/60.4.
Weird, huh?

Posting the same nonsense repeatedly, under different screen names, doesn't make it any less nonsensical.
Gotta love how your hero totally upgraded those mighty Jets. You know, the team that was only a "QB away". Especially after they foolishly agreed to bring all his buddies aboard. So far, it's only cost them a 3-8 record, their HC and GM, and a huge hit to their salary cap after he's gone after the year. Good times!

LL: All you needed to read was the first two sentences to know he has no clue. As 13 Times pointed out, Gute has the best record of the top 3 Packer GM's and is also talked about in the top group of all GM's in the NFL. How would the Packers fans like to have the GM of Chicago or Minnesota? After Rodgers left, most fans thought it would be gloom and doom for 3--5 years. I guess he brought in the players to not endure a rebuild. I will gladly take it.
