Following initial reports that cornerback Brandon Underwood had been arrested and accused of domestic abuse, details of Underwood's incident with his wife emerged on Tuesday evening. The criminal complaint filed on Underwood in Brown County Circuit Court was made available for public consumption in its entirety through the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Reporter Doug Schneider writes, "While speaking with police after the alleged incident, Brandie Underwood said she did not want her husband jailed and said she was worried that the couple’s children would not be fed or clothed 'if Brandon lost his job.'"

As to what specifically happened on the evening of June 16, the night the Packers received their Super Bowl XLV rings in a ceremony at Lambeau Field, Becky DeVries of WLUK-TV in Green Bay provides some of the details. "Brandie says when the two pulled into the driveway, they were arguing, and eventually Brandon grabbed 'the necklace she was wearing around her neck and ripped it off her neck, breaking the chain,'" reports DeVries. "The criminal complaint goes on to say Brandon went to the passenger side of the car, 'grabbed a hold of Brandie's arms with both of his hands, pulled her out of the car, and threw her onto the ground.'"

Commentary on Brandon Underwood comes from Chad Toporski of AllGreenBayPackers.com addressing the cornerback in the second person. "Regardless of what happens, you should know you are quickly writing your way out of Green Bay," writes Toporski. "Just as poor decisions cost you a marriage and a family, they are costing you a job. Because it’s not just your off-the-field antics that are screwing up your chances, it is the fact that you have done squat as a cornerback or even as a special teams player." It's hard to argue with that sentiment. Based upon his personal history, keeping Underwood around would be more trouble than what it's worth. His fate with the organization won't be decided until the lockout is over at the earliest.

Linebacker Clay Matthews has been named honorary chair of this year's AIDS Walk Wisconsin. "The AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin made the announcement on Tuesday," reports Don Walker of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "This year's walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee." Matthews provided a few comments through a press release. AIDS Walk Wisconsin has reportedly raised over $10 million in their 21 years.

Tight end Jermichael Finley will be taking part in a weekly radio show called "Home Turf" locally in Green Bay on 91.1 FM, The Avenue. "The show will air Thursday mornings at 7:15 a.m. with co-host Steve March-Torme’," writes Kareem Copeland of the Press-Gazette. "The schedule begins August 11." The more Packers content, the better, right?

Safety Anthony Smith's recent homophobic comments on Twitter are chronicled and receive critical response from Lauren Fernandez of Aerys Sports. "As a fan, I am personally disgusted," writes Fernandez. "The Packers history is built upon character and how the players work together as a team."

"Douglass is a personal training expert; he has won the 'California Natural Bodybuilding Championship' six times and placed first in over 20 competitions," writes Ricky Zeller of Packers.com. Douglass was a linebacker for the Packers in the late 70s and early 80s.

A column debating the term "America's Team" appears at Lombardi Ave., though it falls short of the mark. "Aaron Rodgers is not an attention hog," writes Daniel Sigl. "He is rarely in the media, and when he is, it is usually just a post-game press conference. Tony Romo, however, is a media darling. He basks in the media, making his private life the headlines of newspapers everywhere." The Packers homerism blares a little too loudly here. While I'd agree Rodgers is not an attention hog, I wouldn't say he is rarely in the media. And the extent to which both Rodgers and Romo appear in the media are mostly out of their control.
