I was very surprised when he didn’t make the roster last September. He seemed to have earned it on D and is a ST stalwart. Therefore I can’t complain at bringing him back. There are Wilson’s ST snaps replaced if we keep him. Good addition to the 90.

Iola WI native Welch played better in the preseason than Wilson did. I too was expecting him to make the 53.

Wilson thrived playing in Hafley's read and react Defense. Perhaps Welch will as well. Younger replacement for Wilson at 26 years of age.

I don't expect a LB will be high on the draft menu now.

Totally agree happy to see him back and this time he should stick with Wilson gone

Now feeling a little better about the LB depth and STs. Next - need to complete the LB room with a Day 3 mobile LB. I recommend Shaun Dolac.

Good move. He's a special teams standout and useful for depth as a coverage LB. And he's still young. If he has the kind of preseason he had before, he should have no problem sticking.

Should have probably made the 53 last year based on his pre-season play but had to be a tough cut at the end. Glad to see him back for another shot in GB.

This move likely replaces a late round LB pick which means Gutey will once again use his draft picks to double down on the positions of greatest need. Expect multiple DLs and OLs in this draft.
