Packers activate LB Krys Barnes off injured reserve

The team fills its final open roster spot with the veteran linebacker.

Earlier this afternoon, the Packers announced that they have activated linebacker Krys Barnes off injured reserve.

The move did not necessitate a corresponding move as the team had one spot open on its roster.

Barnes, a third-year linebacker, was initially placed on injured reserve on Sept. 13 after suffering an ankle injury in Week 1's game in Minnesota. In that game, Barnes played nine snaps on defense and 15 on special teams.

The timing is good for the Packers who will be without linebacker De'Vondre Campbell this week. While it's doubtful Barnes will be asked to play a significant amount, the added depth at the position is obviously a good thing.

Welcome Back Barnes. Ever since I watched Barnes knock out D. Samuel last season playoffs for a few plays after a great hit....Well let's say love me some Barnes puttin' on the hits. Stay healthy Mr. Barnes...

I've always liked Barnes, welcome back kid!
But with Barry's penchant for playing people out-of-position and his hard headed "My scheme OVER My player's skill-sets" attitude, I was disappointed but not surprised to see Barnes fall to third string.
So hey, if Barnes is now fully recovered, 100%, and has those 'Fresh Legs' everyone likes to talk about, maybe he could replace Savage. (:)
Of course I'm (half) kidding, but at least Barnes can tackle, and he'd have a legitimate excuse for being out-of position 75% of the time! Could it be any worse?
