I think you can add our defensive line to The Good. They really turned it around from last week and kept Lynch at bay. James Starks had a great game--except for the fumble. I'll take a win over the Seahawks any time! GO PACK, GO!!!

I'm so excited about the emergence of the new guys. Elliot is the deal, Montgomery is a beast in the making, RRodgers shows up and shows up. Pennel is gonna be a monster.

And, welcome back BJ.

Add the defensive line! (what?!) an offensive line that gave the time and made some wide-a$$ lanes and solid play all around, and you've got to be feeling good.

oh, and the fact this over-long reply doesn't even mention the best player out there, is just nuts.

I have to say, I was VERY skeptical of Zook, but so far the results have been excellent. That kick returner yesterday was no slouch, and we made him look like DaJuan Harris.

Agree on the bad and the ugly.

Absolutely. That prevented the Seahawks aggressive pass rush from just pinning their ears back.

Lacy and Starks are total opposites but they go great together. The runs Starks broke Lacy would not have been able to get as many yards, but Starks doesn't have the awareness, patience or hands of Lacy.

Speaking of injuries, I felt bad, but I was out of the room when Boyd went down and when I came back I couldn't see who was down.

I was freaking out until they finally announced it was Boyd - I think I actually said "Oh thank god!" Literally the one guy on defense they could afford to lose. I figured he'd be gone when Guion was reinstated anyway. At least now he'll likely go to the IR and collect his pay

(Ian Rappaport just tweeted that the injury wasn't as bad as initially feared - he broke a small bone in his ankle. I can't see wasting the short-term IR on him.)

Not proud, but I thought the same thing. And I saw Boyd in an interview and thought he came off as good guy.

I'll bet over 90% who follow the team closely felt the same way.

so many options for the good.
James Starks (minus the fumble), Richard Rodgers, Interior OL, Ty Montgomery, Raji, Elliott, Damarious Randall, Crosby, plus many, many more were really good.
Another good thing came from the game, the 4 WR 1 TE set. They maybe found something there to build off of.

The bad
Not alot of bad things. The fumble was bad. I thought the offense got into a rut after Lacy and Adams got hurt.

Ugly. In the game, it doesn't get uglier then the injuries.
Outside the game. It Doesn't get any uglier then the Giants decision to release James Jones. Jones could have 6 TD's in 2 games. He had one taken away last week for a bad holding penalty. He got a pass interference penalty on another, but the ball actually him him in the numbers. Those are 2 more that he could have had. Then this week he was a split second away from catching a 2nd TD.

Not to mention Seattle's DB was making multiple interference contact and restricting Jones before he broke loose to attempt the sideline catch; I recall the announcers saying it should have been pass interference until they all got distracted about the catch on the sideline.

He was getting assaulted out there. And the back judge was staring right at him. Inexcusable.

Then immediately followed by Wagner all over Richard Rodgers. That was closer, but I was expecting a call if only to make up for the blown Jones one.

I thought the refs missed or ignored some calls against the seattle secondary even though sherman got it twice in a row. Seattle has been playing aggressive for a few years now and still get away with it. I cant bitch after a win though.

Not to mention the unfathomable non-call on intentional grounding.

And yet, if you hear the Seattle fans (or coach) today, they are firmly under the impression that they are the ones who got screwed.

I don't understand how they can be so baffled by the fumble recovery. The video clearly shows Elliott falling on the ball. It happens all the time that the other team wrestles the ball away from someone after the whistle blows. That doesn't make it a recovery.

I went to fieldgulls afterwards and watched vines of Elliott's fumble. I could not see that Elliott recovered it. I presume that the ref saw it live; in that case there should have been a quick whistle since Elliott was on the ground and was down.

The D-line wasn't bad against Chicago. Boyd played the run okay against Chicago and against Seattle. I was one of those who had Boyd on the Bubble when Guion returned, but I was changing my mind. Get well, Mr. Boyd.

I'm glad that the NFL allows CB's and WR's to jostle a little bit, but in this case JJ was getting mauled. Should have called that one but don't know how much difference it would have made. The Pack had it at the one anyway with little time on the clock.

When they missed out on the Lynch/read option fumble earlier in the game, I told my wife that was their chance and they blew it. Turns out lady luck smiled on them in the long run and the Elliott INT/fumble recovery was the key.

I will add to your props for Crosby. A guy should get a serious shout out when he now carries the record for most points in franchise history surpassing longwell. That 54 yarder was a thing of beauty. Two years ago I couldn't even watch when they lined up. He only missed like three last year, and two of those were blocked because of poor protection assignments. Dude is a stud.

Yeah, was it necessary to try to twist Starks backwards when he was trapped in a pile. There's a huge difference taking good hard hits and just cheap shots.

You'd think they should realize the same thing could happen to them.

I would add Pete Carroll to the ugly. His constant talking and yelling at refs, before, during, and after every play, I wonder when they'll start throwing flags for unsportsmanlike conduct. I couldn't be happier that this douche bag lost. Dislike him even more than Belichick or the Harbaughs, even though that's really hard to achieve...

The bummer about Carroll is that he's an excellent coach, but he's the ultimate huckster. Ask the folks at USC what they think, they're still digging out of that mess and had to make draconian changes to their practices. He's a high energy dude that just doesn't know when to stop.

The bad could have been Casey Hayward. For whatever reason he just looks timid and confused. I think we'll see Damarious Randall take more snaps for Hayward in the weeks to come.

So much good:

What a turnaround for Clinton-Dix... he looked faster and more confident breaking down on tackles.

OLB rotation is rock solid... I thought Perry, Neal, and Elliot all played outstanding. I don't get too upset about read option because they adjusted and starting staying home. Great coaching and player adjustment.

DL was disruptive all night. Datone came back and made some plays... When Guion comes back they are going to be deep.

I think Palmer should get a nod for good too. That was the best coverage I've seen out of MLB since Nick Barnett. He has the speed to turn and run with TE"s which nice to see and he get's to his zones quickly.

Overall great game

Sean Richardson should have had a pick too (on that wheel route ran by Jimmy Graham).

I don't know if the CBs and Safeties are coached the same way, but I love how our CBs are able to locate the ball in the air.

Too bad we can't pass more "love" around and everyone has posted all the high points but what never ceases to amaze me - and I'm so grateful he's our QB - is how he puts the ball exactly where it needs to be. When it was all said and done, I sat for a few minutes and just felt good about what transpired. GO PACK!

It may have been slightly overlooked, but Neal had a great play where he stayed home and made an open field tackle on Wilson Read Option for no gain.

The refs called an alright game overall. I don't care if they let DBs play physical as long as its consistent. The only one that bothered me was the clear intentional grounding. Only player near that pass was 6 yards off the sideline on the bench.

At least once, Rodgers threw it away right at Pete Carroll. Seems like a kinda in-your-face move. I'd have to think that that would be a distraction as a coach to have ball thrown at you. Too bad it didn't hit him in the mouth to make him shut up. OOOpss, did I say that! Didnt' mean it. Well, mostly... maybe a little.

This blog should have been "the super good, the very good, the good, and then go into the bad (considering no team or player is "perfect") not too much bad last night, and the ugly. Not seeing Lacy play last night was "ugly". He's such an exciting player to watch!
We should also mention total nirvana which would be watching Rodgers play.
