Murphy It Is

Mark Murphy will be nominated to lead the Packers organization. He did an admirable job turning around the Northwestern athletic program. He  played in the NFL, and seems like a competent individual. Still, I find myself somewhat disappointed the search committee did not choose Jason Wied to put forward before the Packer board of directors for confirmation. Wied's address to stockholders this past summer sealed my admiration for him, and he has done nothing but succeed in working his way up in the Packer's organization.

Look, I don't pretend to know anything when it comes to matters administrative in the NFL, but it does sound a warning siren in my head when the Packers hire someone to run the Packers who has never worked at the club level in the NFL. Obviously, time will tell, but I just don't like the feel of this hire.
