LaFleur has had enough on the audible thing

Needless to say, it's time for the season to start.

All offseason, we've been bombarded with story after story about Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers figuring out how much the veteran quarterback will be able to audilble within the new Packers offense.

Today, after three questions on the topic in a little less than five minutes, LaFleur reached his breaking point on the subject.

Good for him.

He is way too nice still, if that was reaching the breaking point.

Give him time. That will change over time. He’s not ready to start blasting the media and making enemies yet. If he gets a winning season and maybe the playoffs under his belt he’ll be in a position of strength. For now he’s playing nice. Thanks, Since ‘61

He handled it perfectly.

On one will be pissed and they'll lay off.

Good for you MLF. The media is always trying to make something out of nothing and in this case they remain focused on a non- issue. Polite way to them them to eff off. Thanks, Since ‘61

Apparently, some in the media don't know how to take Yes for an answer.

I believe the reporter responded to MLF’s comments by saying, “Cram it up your cramhole, LaFleur!”

Not a lot of “Dodgeball” fans in the room, I guess.

Isn't that the voice of Bill Huber, one of the most irritating reporters around, in terms of questioning the coaches?

There's so much more to write about now than this junk story.

Reporters these days are just ambulance-chasing drama queens... looking - not for the "scoop" like reporters of old - but looking for that clickbait headline, because you know, nothing sells like drama.

Anyone remember guys like Howard Cosell and Bob Uker and Brent Musberger and other guys who just reported sports??? (Pepperidge Farm does...)

Now we get beaten-to-death horses instead of sports...

He tried his best with the media but they have OCD on this issue. It was cringeworthy listening to the beat reporter try to finish that question after the alpha dog tore into him. lol What I gathered from the answer is his system relies more on "options" than "audibles". For instance, you don't really need to audible out of an RPO because there is a run and pass built into it. If every play has 2-3 options built into it for Rodgers to choose from, there's no need to change plays entirely with an audible.

The story I’ve heard is that Rodgers changed the play McCarthy called quite a bit, maybe 1/3 of the time, and those changes didn’t work that well.

Obviously, LaFleur doesn’t want that. But in the NFL, the QB has to have some flexibility. He’ll find a balancing point or he won’t. Time will tell.
