Didn’t listen.
Kraft is a stud. Give him the ball.
Cooper needs to see the field more.
So does Even Williams.
Hafley needs to watch Barry ball, and do the opposite.
LeFleur needs to get out his own way at times.
Wicks to the Jugs machine.

Can someone please tell the coaching staff Cooper needs to be on the field ALL the time. Every time he's on the field he makes plays and his speed makes up for others mistakes.
Speaking of more time, I'm happy to see Evan Williams out there. That kid has a nose for the ball. I really like what I see from Both of those guys.
McKinney is just a stud. Thank you New York for being just total dipshits!
Everyone of Narveys kicks was pretty much right down the middle. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the kid.
The Packers REALLY needed this win. Going 0-3 to start the season against the NFC isn't going to work. 3-2 with 2 home games in a row.
Lets Go!!!

Looks like we are simpatico re Cooper and Williams. My mistake for not stating the obvious - McKinney is a stud. Narveson gave himself another couple games. This was a must need win to keep pace. GPG!

- Sorry I missed posting last week. Was at Madeline Island. Plus…..wasn’t in the right mindset.
- That throw and catch to Reed. I used to be jealous of teams that always seemed to come down with those. It’s felt so long.
- Jacobs makes things happen. On a day where Jonesy is injured once again.
- Speaking of which…..that Viking offense looked less than average once Jones went out.
- A goal line stance. Huh. Don’t see that often from the Packers last 20 years of defense.
- No one will ever remember this…..but Whelan saving the high snap and then booted it to like the 30 from the endzone. But a penalty negated it so no stat line.
- More snaps for Cooper please. And Brooks.
- Maybe we have more explosive plays than everyone else because we have so many presnap penalties that make us have to go 15-20 yards for a first down.
- Love. We need you to stop making those desperation heave interceptions.
- Key to Narvs is right hash.
- X man should be called the baker. Good for one or two turnover per game.
- Kraft is my favorite Packer. And it’s not even close. Guy plays hard nose football and goes all out to get the yards when he gets the rock. He makes our offense tough again.
- Love’s knee looks fine. Gutsy scramble.
- Incomplete passes while trying to run the clock out is not clever.
- Matt Stafford’s comeback record kept Packer fans puckering.
- Glad the D closed one out. That didn’t happen often enough in the AR12 era.
- There were times when it looked like the Rams could move the ball at will. But this is the new NFL folks. What you want for your D is to create turnovers and make a few plays at crunch time. They did. Tip of the cap to Hafley.
- We need to start games with more gusto.
- The stat about Love being 11 years old when Stafford first played the Packers still blows my mind. It’s a young mans game.
- AR12 looked old today.
- Hope Doubs learned his lesson. Reed and Kraft could use one more weapon. Wicks only had two catches.
- I think we won the penalty margin for once!! Baby steps.
- Go Pack Go!

It is so nice to have safety's. Not just the ints, but gb has ,2 safety's that make every open field tackle, savage, haha Clinton six, Owens, Rudy Ford, these guys would let ball carriers and wrs right by them for 60 yard tds so it's nice to see when kyron Williams looks like he's gonna break one Bullard takes him down for a 15 yard gain instead of a td, weird point I know but we got athletes back there is all im saying. Good to see the D close it out, but this front 4 can NOT get pressure for shit. Idk what's up with rashan Gary but he wasn't even getting doubled and just couldn't get home or even force an incomplete. 1 more thing. Doubs we needed you clearly, so get your shit together, show up to work.

Funny part is, I first read your list of past safeties as "Savage, Haha!" rather than Savage, Haha Clinton Dix" because Savage's open field tackling had been so horrendous in recent years. Big W to Gute for how he addressed that room.

Time to go shopping again before the trading deadline is up.... I would check with the NY Giants squad again for defensive players. Because the Packers sure have trouble drafting them. 13th pick in the 1st round L Van Ness.... The guy is just not ready for primetime football. If you want to beat the Packers run the ball where ever Van Ness lines up or Pass the ball wherever McDuffie is playing. The Packers Defense is way to soft. Very Happy they won today but the Defense needs more pass rush and better LB play... Defensive line is slow and needs to be more physical & aggressive.... They have 12 more games to improve the Defense. Take the win and move on... Happy to see Love scramble with the ball today adds another dimension to the offense... GPG

It might be early in the season, but as the rest of the division continues to notch victories, this was an important win to keep pace. Road wins are always gold...and winning when you got had for over a half of football is huge.
--Was it just me, or did the Rams' OL reset the LOS in their favor on just about every run play?
--The Rams defensive front took the lead from the Vikings and showed that pressure kills the Packers OL and stops the offense cold.
--The Packers front should've eaten this makeshift Rams OL for lunch...but it was the other way around. Hafley is going to have to take more chances rather than rushing 4 and playing coverage as much as he does.
--Wicks is outstanding at making separation, but that also includes the ball.
--I will keep saying it: I was dead wrong at draft time on Jayden Reed
--Until that last long drive, the Packers kept the penalties under control
--Tucker Kraft, aside from the fumble last week, gets better every game
That said: I'll take the win. The Cardinals--next week's opponent--went into SF and beat the Niners today, so the Packers better be ready next week.

Love: That deep ball to Reed was absolutely perfect, one for the highlight reel. What our QB did in the end zone, well, we won't even talk about that.
McKinney: The free agent signing of the year in the NFL so far. E. Williams also made a couple of nice plays. Refreshing to see high-level safety play from the Packers.
Wide receiver depth: With Kraft blossoming, Reed making more big plays, and others contributing, injuries and suspensions can be brushed aside.
Nice stop on the two-point conversion try. No need to worry about a game-tying FG.
Defense: Not good against the run. Second-to-last Rams drive much too easy. Bringing the heat on the last drive finally stalled them for good.
Thankfully we won't have to talk about the kicker this week; his 6 points were the difference in the game.

See, this is the kind of stuff that just confuses me. We just had a game, on the road, where the defense essentially stuffed the Rams, holding them to 7 for most of the game and eventually ending up with 19.
IMO, that's a pretty good day for the defense. Yeah, I know LA was missing some people, but the Packer defense played pretty well against the opponent on the schedule. And we're bagging on Walker?. If we can hold Arizona to 19 next week, I'll be happy with that, too.
Oppy
October 06, 2024 at 10:27 pm
It should be noted that our defense was also missing some people.
However; when it comes to Quay Walker, he generally has not played well.
Ignoring his relatively sub-par play just because the defense had, overall, played well, is not how you manage a football team.
There's a reason every snap for every player is broken down, evaluated, and graded by every team in the league. You don't just rest on your laurels. You hold players accountable for their performance, and they either improve or eventually get replaced.. That's just the way it is.

good game to get a win. Packers have three win-able games coming up. Let's make a run.
couple of bone-headed plays just about cost the game. Love has to work on eliminating those.
Couple of drops hurt the team. Gotta make those catches. Kraft made great plays and held on to the ball. Makes a difference.
Lafluer needs to work on some play calls at the end of the game. The long 4th quarter drive stalled. Just seemed that better plays could be called.
Defense came around and shut down the Rams when it counted. That is what is needed. Mckinney is turning into a one of the best free agent additions. Six turnovers in five games. When Alexander comes back, sit Stokes. And yes, Cooper needs to be on the field for a lot more plays. He makes impactful plays every game.
Overall, this is still a young team and makes mistakes. But can win.
It will be a good plane ride home. Go Pack.

Limited thoughts after today's game:
Can we call Love's interception a "Pick 4"?
Crazy pace Xavier McKinney is establishing, and it would be foolish to believe he can keep it up long term... I know it's only week 5, but how long is it before the first sports journalist starts to ponder if McKinney isn't quietly making a case for DPOY consideration?
I am starting to feel like MLF gets an idea of what he wants to accomplish in a particular game, or even during a particular phase of the game, and doesn't veer from that decision even if it's not really working out. We came into this game pounding the rock for what felt like nearly 7 YPC early.. then it felt like MLF decided "we need to get the passing game going today.".. And it really didn't work out, but we still continued to throw the ball well into the 4th Q up by more than a score when we should have been hammering the rock up the gut of the defense. I get it, you want to start getting the passing attack rolling, because we're basically 3 weeks behind schedule due to Love's injury.. but read the room, dude. We're killing it on the ground, and Love and the WRs just aren't in sync yet. It will come in time, but in the meanwhile, just run what's working, and lately, that's been the ground game.

All road wins in the NFL are good no matter what they look like. Packers were fortunate to capitalize on a couple of turnovers in the second half. Overall not a great performance in any aspect today, they did just enough to win. Would like to see improvement with the run defense and more consistency in the passing game. Some of the time and game play calling seemed a bit puzzling. Good win and onto next week against the Cardinals.

That play is a prime example of a poor play that will warrant a negative grade in the film room, but it was excellent execution and the result was a positive... just like there are often plus graded decisions that end up with negative results on the opposite end of the spectrum.
I never want to see Love take a shot like that again, but he did, and it was right on the money and a huge play. Still a poor decision.
I'm on the record here stating that there were a number of plays similar to that in 2023 - whether they were rainbow arcing plays down field or frozen rope lasers into impossibly tight windows- that were high-risk throws that just happened to be perfectly executed and ended up either big completions or harmless incompletions- that could have easily ended up interceptions.
It's why I've also predicted that it will appear that Love will 'regress' in 2024 compared to 2023- I believe he will be going through the process of learning what he can and can't get away with this season. Last year, sooo many tight window throws went our way, Love's fortune can't continue at the rate it had in the second half of 2023. I assume there will be more picks to come, but Love will learn how to better gauge which risks are appropriate to take, and when to take them, and it will be part of the uncomfortable learning curve that will make him a better QB and the Packers a stronger team in the long run.

So more is needed from Clark and Gary and I agree but I just read that opposing teams picked Green Bay as the least fav place for a road game cuz of nothing to do and the food in the area sucks...must be talking Appleton, but anyway, maybe that has to do with Gary and Clark getting slower, too much Golden Corral and stuff like that...

All All-Time throw and catch to Reed. Probably the best we'll see this season. Just Wow.
A very good defensive effort. One drive for a TD, and then another late in the game when we played prevent. Other than that, Jack Squat. 19 points on their home field. And we got some nice takeaways. I'd have to give the defense a very good grade.
The offense, not so much. Love was recklessly stupid on the pick 6. Take the safety, don't give up 6. He made a poor decision to throw a long interception into the endzone last week with plenty of time on the clock. And of course, the SF game. He is being reckless and stupid with the ball in those situations, and it's hurting us, and it needs to stop.
Reed....what a weapon. Just unbelievable. Kraft also took some short passes and ran with them, including one long TD. Wicks...quite a few targets, 2 receptions for 20 points. Maybe he shouldn't be getting so many targets. Jacobs and the line played well enough for us to win, and I kind of think that'll be a theme in quite a few of our games. It's a good line, Jacobs is a good back.
Minnesota is undefeated, but just about everybody else is 2-3 or 3-2 right now. The Commies are really impressing me, and I think they'll be one of the Final 4 teams in the NFC. They're good. An excellent offense and they don't turn it over very much. SF at 2-3....you know a shift is coming.

Whew—this defense has apparently attended survival skill training.
Nick Perry is right —get Cooper on the field.
Love throws some awful interceptions, but he’s also a stud.
Someone wake up the D/O-Lines.
Considering the number of targets he’s received, Wicks has been disappointing; I hope Watson recovers soon.
I believe this team is going to continue improving.
Tucker Kraft—played 9-man football in South Dakota.
Go Packers!!!

Ok, so again, like last week a bit of a slow start, early mistake by love on the pick six trying to avoid the safety, but, adjustments were made on both sides of the ball; mCikenny is looking like the best free agent signing since Reggie or Woodson, five picks and a fumble recover in five games. Kraft is a beast. im really starting to like the deal for Jacobs-hes great at reversing his field for a big dude and he finishes his runs angry-and here's a surprise, four games in and Aaron Jones is hurt.. I know Luke Musgrave has an ankle thing, but even before that, is still on the team? The only negatives I see here are the continuing penalties-and the drops. Holy Jesus the drops. I wasn't a fan of doing this before but I think a veteran presence in the recieveer room might be a good thing-a big brother to guide our young guys until one develops as the number one. GREAT WIN NON THE LESS! GOPACKGO!

- Love needs to learn how to throw the ball away.
-Liked Kraft’s stiff arm on the longer of his 2 TDs
- The pre-draft rap on Wicks was bad hands and a disappointing 40 time. He has shown that he’s plenty quick enough, but now he needs to prove he can catch the damn ball.
-Did Musgrave play ?
- The Packer O are going to see lots of heat until they show they can handle it
- When all said and done, the bottom line is the W-L column. A road victory is always good.

Tucker Kraft is an awesome player and had great game. But I wonder why didn't he play till the end in pick-6 action, not eve jumpng to the ball.
All the season we can't stop hurting ourselves. Once we get rolling, we do something unexpected and have to start anew. Good that this teams showed good midset and can reload multple times.
I like our turnover ability but what I don't like is giving up 5-8 yards on defense on 1st Rams' downs. They always ended up with 2nd or 3rd short so they converted 50% of those. Our 3rd down efficiency? 12,5%.
Incomplete throws late in 4th could cost us very much. I know that if one was caught I'd say something opposite, but I think it went out of control.

Anyone else remember when certain folks were bashing Gutey for letting ARod go? Or for not retaining Aaron Jones? Or even for trading Adams?
According to reports, Adams is available for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, Jones is hurt again - who'da thunk it, right? - and ARod just threw three picks while waddling around on the field in London like an old man with a load in his pants.
On the other hand, it kinda sucks to be burdened with Xavier McKinney and Josh Jacobs.
All hail, Gutekunst.

First - The packers should have honored
A. Jones contract commitment.
Second- Jones was the spark the offense
needed. Especially in a playoff run.
Adams deserved to be paid.
And Rodgers didn't want to be part of a rebuild.
For the Glory of Gute-
Forget the Lombardi trophy.
Gute is a "whats in it for me boss now."
No body said this year signings were bad.
He only had to replace Savage.
He's Sherman. He needs money.
His drafts are no longer a building block.

Glad we got the win, but it is going to be a tough slog when we appear to have the 3rd best offense and worst defense and special teams in the NFC North.
