Getting the Scoop On The Bills

Cheesehead TV does some reconnaissance on this week's enemy through our interview with BuffaloSportsNow.com

As a preview for the Green Bay Packers regular season home opener, Cheesehead TV had the opportunity to interview Sydney Hunte of the Bills blog BuffaloSportsNow.com.

Sydney re-paid the favor by doing a Q&A with yours truly in an interview posted over on their site. Check out the Cheesehead TV interview over at BuffaloSportsNow.

Here's the scoop on the enemy...

CheeseheadTV: The Bills secondary is very impressive. How do they match-up with Green Bay's deep receiving corps that includes Donald Driver, Greg Jennings and Jermichael Finley?

BuffaloSportsNow: It will be a challenge.  Rodgers has those weapons to work with so he can easily spread the ball around at will.  Buffalo does have All-Rookie Team selection Jairus Byrd, but he and Donte Whitner will have their hands full.  Bills fans haven't exactly been enamored with Whitner, though, since he came here.  I just don't see them being able to stop a potent passing attack like Green Bay's.

CHTV: Lee Evans is a dangerous target, but if the Packers do everything in their power to take him out of the game plan, do the Bills have enough weapons elsewhere to stack up against the Packers defense?

BSN: The Packers may not even have to work hard to keep Evans out of the game plan--Trent Edwards has had trouble enough finding him on his own.  Last year, Terrell Owens was supposed to be the "distraction" to open things up for Evans but it didn't really turn out as planned.  With Edwards being a liability at quarterback, Buffalo has to hope the threesome at running back (Marshawn Lynch, C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson can get it going after a tough week against Miami.  If the running game isn't there, the Packers will have their way.

CHTV: What interest does is there in Bills Nation about the rumored trade proposals surrounding Marshawn Lynch and A.J. Hawk?

BSN: It wouldn't surprise me if it went down.  Lynch has been mentioned in trade rumors since the Bills drafted Spiller, and many people thought he was definitely gone, considering his legal troubles and the play of Fred Jackson.  Hawk, as I read earlier, was upset that he didn't play last Sunday, and Bills fans may not want someone with that attitude on the team.  Hawk would probably be a boost for the team at linebacker (even though message boards are calling him a bust and cracking on him for dating Brady Quinn's sister), and the Packers could definitely use help at running back.  The deal has a very real chance of going down...while it wouldn't surprise me if it did, I would be equally unsurprised if it didn't and the Bills hold on to Lynch and see if his value rises later in the year.

Thanks, Sydney! I can assure you that Hawk has a good attitude and is only frustrated because he wants to be on the field. As for figuring out what to do with his $10 million salary for next season, that's another issue.

" Hawk, as I read earlier, was upset that he didn't play last Sunday, and Bills fans may not want someone with that attitude on the team. "

Now it's clear why the Bills & their fans will probably only win 3 or 4 in 2010 ..... They only appreciate players that don't want to play on Sundays ...... It's called Bizzaro Buffalo .... Is this the same reason why they can't decide whether to play their home games in the US or Canada? .....

Man, I think we're getting ourselves lathered up for nothing with the trade talk. I wish it was true. It just won't be true.

Unfortunately, you're probably right ..... BJ as the go-to-guy for the next 15 games ..... I'd be thrilled if he could pull it off but I have a feeling the Pack may wish they had been bold earlier rather than later ...... If BJ goes down .... Then what? ..... Kuhn, Nance, Johnson (PS) ..... GB will lose the advantage they have of being an elite team ,,,,,,, (without a respected running game)
