Eagles Reportedly Interested In Favre

Howard Eskin reports that the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in bringing in Favre to back up Michael Vick.

Hell. Yes.

From Howard Eskin:

Just reported on TV Eagles have some interest in b farve once they trade kolb. Sources told me its possible. Not sure what farve thinks

This just makes way too much sense.

Eagles starter Michael Vick can't make it through and entire season without getting injured. Eagles head coach Andy Reid runs a version of the West Coast Offense that stems from what Favre has run through much of his NFL career. And Favre has tons of experience missing an entire offseason, showing up mid-way through camp and playing by the third-preseason game.

Alright, I'm KIND of joking there.

But this actually makes a world of sense if Reid can sell it to Favre.

God I hope he does.

UPDATE: Jay Glazer is a total party pooper:

Let's end the uproar now, 2 Eagles sources tell me an emphatic No to Favre coming there to back up Michael Vick. Not the option they are on

I love what he did for the Packers, hate what he did to the Packers, and would love to see him toss a few more...just not in the playoffs.

"God I hope he does." That makes one of us.

I got to go to the Henderson/Rivera induction tonight. It was a beautiful thing. Then, I come home to find out that a storm took out my t.v., phone, xbox, microwave, and I'm sure more once I look around. I can't believe Brett this to me.

Seriously, though Brett - just stop. Please, just stop. Please....I'm beggin' ya, think of the children. Just stop.

Really? You rather face Michael Vick than an old, broken down, interception machine?

In this moment, playing Favre and playing Derek Anderson doesn't have much difference other than the hype that surrounds them.

OK this might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. The only two teams that would benefit right now from favre would be the browns(cleveland will take anything right now) and the raiders(theyll take anyone too) other than that Brett Favre is absolutely done. Michael Vick could destroy Favre right now id take Vick anyday.

Man, the spelling and punctuation are horrible in this little paragraph or two... I can tell you obviously were excited writing this shit. Why the fuck would you want to see the guy come back to a potential roadblock for the Packers???? Makes me sick. You sound like one of these Favre nutsack huggers that didn't mind Favre winning with Minnesota against the Pack.
I want to see MY guy retire. No more LAST seasons, please Favre...

Just digusting

Um, you do understand that MY punctuation and spelling is fine - its Howard Eskin's Tweet that is effed up.

So....maybe HE was excited "writing this shit" - as you obviously were while writing your comment.

And for the record - yes, I love Brett - and I wanted the Packers to knock his dick in the dirt every time they played him. My wife and I had the police called because we were cheering so loudly when he threw the big INT against the Saints.

But go ahead and be an Internet tough guy without knowing what the fuck you're talking about. I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Until you can take criticism, warranted or not, without whining like a child...you will continue to be taken seriously by some...and not so seriously by others.

Don't let it bother you, dude. It looks 10x worse when you freak out.

I can take criticism, when warranted, just fine. But your overall point is correct.

In the interest of full disclosure I was, both when writing the post and the comment, quite drunk.

Don't listen to him Aaron! And, please, I'll buy you a drink if that's what it takes for you to be more "pro-active".

WOW. It's been a long off season for Mr. Nagler.

I suggest for the guru to come down from the mountain and comment on only the rarest of occasions.

Otherwise- leave us at the height that we've grown.

Does anyone think with that massive ego Brett Favre would come back as a backup? No Way.

Massive money feeds massive ego. Hell, for the right price he would even be Sarah Palin's backup (VP choice).

Good point, and maybe true, but consider this: even if the Eagles pay Farve the same as Kolb, they still come out ahead by going with Farve. They will get some nice picks by trading Kolb.

The reason to trade Kolb and sign Favre has to do w/ Kolb's trade value.

Well, it would give him more TV time...
And it would give him another opportunity to leave the house.

My guess is all of this happenend because he can't stand Deanna anymore, but after the cancer thing, would look even more like a dick if he left her...

Hold the phone folks. No one said Farve was interested, so quit knocking him. And no one said Farve was going to steal the starting job from Vick, just that Farve would be a competent back-up. Personally, I don't see either party being interested enough to make this happen. But in the meantime, let's wait for Brent's next porn pic to surface before we knock him.

Back with Andy Reid, OK I get that. I just wish this guy would finally call it a day.

Anyway, we're at least talking like the season is going to happen so I guess this just goes with the territory. It wouldn't be football without yet another Brent Favor story.

Right but I am still hearing the eagles might be interested. This isn't over.

Also, wonder how long before the comments on this one get over 100. I bet by 9:00 tomorrow it reaches that.

I hope the new CBA has language stating the league will fine any team that is mentioned with bringing favre back for another year. Eagles, you owe $50k for the thought.
