Adjust the side mirrors, adjust the rear view mirror, adjust the seat (if needed), check your blindspotz, slowly put into gear while maintaining vigilance in your sight paths....
Backup Plan [if a banner/sign of any type is advertising the Chicago Bears],
Go back into the house...check your insurance deductible. Go back into your 70 Chevy pickup, adjust seat belt, crank Hair of the Dog by Nazareth and put into reverse with gas pedal hugging the floor.
