A beatdown that wasn't close👎, BUT will give WI liquor & beer sales a boost heading into New Years👍

Still time to catch 🔥 & have a shot IF:
1) we get healthy; we don't have depth to compete against superior teams
2) we find a pass rush or it's strawberry (middle of the) fields forever for opposing offenses
3) preschool sh*t; we execute, protect the ball, and have stand on throat mentality (*asterisk hard to accomplish w/o on-field leaders & a soft coach)
4) MLF gives up 4th down go-fers and challenges

To excel, Love NEEDS rhythm to mask his faults; keep him well oiled; avoid run first identity against great teams; keep defenses guessing. Packers have succeeded in converting him into a game-manager QB since his early season INT spats only to find out we can't compete with top tier teams; game manager QBs require top fielding defense in the context of Super Bowl aspirations. You either loosen Love's noose or pipe dream Super Bowls.

Clearly 3rd fiddle NFC North until proven otherwise

Idk if I agree with every point your making, but the j love thing seems spot on. Against these really good teams, gotta let love rip it a bit more. But did love finally get it going, or did Minnesota change from press man/ blitz,to a more prevent type approach? I feel like flores kept blitzing from what I remember. Also, yeah we went for it on fourth, but from what I remember, reid just dropped the damn ball. Again. Looking back yeah the'3 woulda been nice. bottom line is this. There was a lot more pressure on Minnesota today for the one seed, and it seemed like all the way up until the 4th quarter, the pressure was on green bay, and they choked.

Agree on all points.
WR’s couldn’t beat press coverage with a pass rush or blitz and our pass rushers didn’t get home.
2 biggest holes on the team IMO.
Don’t lose faith Packers Nation. We’re a young team with $130m plus in cap space next 2 years.
P.S.

Um Minnesota is a very young team too. If it wasnt for Darnold and Smith they would probably be just as young as Packers. Vikings have drafted very good. Its naive to think we are going to somehow get older next year and be so much better than MN, they have a young team too and will be competitive for years to come. They certainly have done a better job of drafting on Defense then we have.

Rebelgb,
"They certainly have done a better job of drafting on Defense then we have".

That's an understatement, but C'mon man! Gutey loves those guys that will come around in about 3 - 4 years, or maybe Not! That's what first round picks are for, aren't they?

Actually, the Vikings have exactly three of their own draft picks currently starting on their defense (one is Harrison Smith who was drafted during the Obama Administration)...and at this stage, all their preferred starters are all healthy. They've rebuilt their defense through free agency and mostly on mid-tier guys. Flores is an outstanding defensive coach.

You Packer fans are to hard on your team, they're still young and as a Viking fan I'm worried about how good they will be next year and beyond! My Vikings won today because of that inexperience and your defensive injuries as well as Sam throwing darts!! I have a feeling we will be playing again in the playoffs and hopefully my Vikes will prevail but if not I will be rooting for the Pack like I do every year come playoff time and my Vikes are sitting at home watching!! One fact for sure, there are true rookie QBs playing better than Love so I hope people finally quit with the young and still learning stuff...Love looks exactly like he looked in college, lights it up one game sucks the next...which sort of equals mediocrity....same goes for MLF...

To little too late. I don't know, seems like we're good ,but no good enough! Every year, the same ! On the final drive before half time on 3rd and 5? The long ball, wtf? Try to move the damn chains! On replay i saw one open to get 1st down, if we could have got a fg before the half,no!

I don't comment much on these posts.
I was sitting in a bar in New Braunfels, Texas.....Packer fans are everywhere, even in Cowboy country. But Matt, what the hell are you thinking here??? Early in the game, score 7-3, take the 3 and you're down by one. Don't convert here on 4th down and you're at least giving the other team 3 points. Your backups on the defense can't get off the field on 3rd down and all of a sudden you down by another 7. Fourth quarter, yes damn, go for it on 4th! This game didn't mean more than pride and perhaps in a game like this, holding your cards is the best that for that time. But Matt, please know for this team, in its current make up, to move to the end in a position to get to that promised land, you and you staff need to be perfect. Be bold at the correct moment and take a chance when the odds are more in your favor, and please call a better play. I came out of the womb in '58 a Packer fan, Go Pack

Just a reminder that their kicker was coming off an injury and both field goals were I believe greater than 50+. So they still attempted the long FG. We had a "gimme".

No question the Vikings outplayed the Packers, but a win was still very possible without all of the Packer brain cramps. LaFleur passes on an easy FG; the Vikings miss a long FG try but make the second chance after the Packers (Cooper I think) get flagged for a neutral zone infraction; a number of productive plays were called back due to illegal formations; and the Packer receivers had the dropsies.

Just a really frustrating game as the Vikings got most of the details right and the Packers got so many details wrong. Coaching or inexperience.........? IDK.

Being the YOUNGEST team in the NFL is a weird point of pride in Green Bay going back to Ted Thompson.

After what is going to be the 14th straight season of not even getting to a Super Bowl, you'd think the goal would change, but hey if being the YOUNGEST is what floats your boat then by golly the Pack is your team.

The Jacobs fumble on the first series was a game-changer—he was gashing them.
Love is playing pedestrian at the moment—but Reed could have helped.
Based on our anemic pass rush, the secondary played fairly well—and missing two starters. McKinney didn’t have his best game.
The officiating has to be better—they gave the Vikings a FG cuz they thought they saw a defender’s fingernail close to the los.
Go Packers!!!

I blame our head coach for the loss: How many times have we seen teams not take the sure points and gambling on 4th down and it comes back to backfire on the team? How many times have we seen 3rd and short (this time 3rd and 5 near end of 2nd quarter) and we throw a low percentage bomb with our receiver covered by 2 defensive players? How many times does the coach allow the opposing QB have all day to throw and we continue to just rush 4 again and again? How many times are we going to run it on 1st down? Why not fake the run once in a while and throw? Our coach is a nice guy with an offensive IQ, but in big games, he needs to make great decisions. He is young, but can he learn to be football wise and take us to the next level?

The Packers can only beat the lousy teams, not the elite teams. They are not ready for prime time. MLF gets confused and sends in wrong plays, Defense still sucks as it has for years. Wide open fields with opponent receivers not covered. No pass rush. Defense always gives opposing QB their best game ever. Stop running on first down on almost every series. Love struggles to complete a ten to fifteen yard pass. Bombs to Love means throw it as far as you can and hope your receiver makes the catch instead of the two backs covering him. There is just no polish, no shine to the Packers. One and done in the playoffs.

Spot on! It's easy to see the difference in execution between the Packers and the elite teams. The Pack looks sloppy and out of synch, both offensively and defensively. Packer receivers too often can't get free or if they do, Love doesn't see them and throws into coverage. Some of that might be fixable, but I've seen enough of Love to know that he's simply not that good.

Love has to rise above his mediocre play for this team to go anywhere...which I doubt they will...MLF is "to me" a mediocre coach who's softness reflects down on the team...they are not a tough team by any standards...Gary, Clark, Van Ness, I know you cant trade them all but these three dont do much...four man rush gets nowhere...pressure Darnold and he makes mistakes but with these dudes rushing he had all day for three quarters...Packers are not as good as the two teams above them in the division...maybe just maybe win the first playoff game but theyll be hard pressed to go any further than that...why would next year be any better??

Give him Chase and Tee Higgins. He has the same arm strength as those other guys. I do not see improvement on his footwork and positioning for the launch, getting better torque and balance with his hips and leg drive. I'm not worried about Jordan Love. The coaching is another story.

Correct, and an understatement!
The Murphy/Gutey/LaFleur team has had more time to fix it than the other two teams' hierarchy. The problems start at the Top, maybe the new President will return the Packers to being "A Football Corporation"!

They're playing a hybrid 4-3 now, not two ILBs and the edge guys. Cooper will run the show and Walker had best hope to show something on the outside with edge contain and effective blitzing, or he will be replaced. I will still use the One pick on a CB, or OT. A functional inside LB can be brought onboard round four. Hopper is still in the mix. They don't hit in College Ball and you see the results in the watered-down NFL.

The Vikings demonstrated they were the better team for most of the game. The offensive coaching and QB/WR execution on their part was outstanding. And their offensive line was able to afford Darnold plenty of time.

I like Jacobs. but I think we should be striving for a more balanced run/pass ratio earlier in games.

Our passing game needs work and refinement. Like Brady said, the lack of intermediate options is a major weakness. How many times did we see Love under duress with an ocean of empty green in front of him and nowhere to throw the ball? You would think a receiver or two would be working their way back to help him.

What has happened to Jayden Reed?

Pretty impressive game for E. Cooper with 4 TFLs. He is an impact player for sure. Run defense solid again.

The disappointing and inconsistent pass rush needs to be addressed at season's end. We've expended too many resources here for it to be largely absent against the better teams. Answers are badly needed here. Poor scheme fit? The individual players? Get it fixed or we'll have a difficult time winning games like this.

Yeah Brady was spot on there. Idk if it's the wrs not having the football IQ to work with love when he needs it most? Or is it the opposing defenses playing tight man and forcing our wrs to win routes quickly because the blitz is coming? Because Detroit did the same exact thing, sold out against the run and short passes, forcing GB to go deep basically. They need to figure it out. As for the pass rush, very disappointing. Especially after last week. The Vikings aren't a bunch of all pros up front.

This is what work looks like for a company / management that is ok with just competing, looking very good, but never really overly concerned with how to lead the industry they are in. 2nd, 3rd place? I’m good with that. We’re among the elites so how could you ever aspire for more? Throwing out stats how they are so fortunate to even have a job. So many now have been indoctrinated into that path. I think they call it life complacency.

@MP-GB is very insular. There seems to be little appetite to strive for current best practices or cutting edge ideas.

Our family visited Green Bay for training camp several years ago and my overall takeaway was disappointing. We stayed in a better hotel (by reputation) but is was very tired and run-down (and expensive)
The restaurants are heavy on portions but very mediocre. There is a world-class football team and outside of 'Titletown' the town is tired. I would think the Packers would donate a dollar or two to plant some flowers on the main drag or help spruce up some of the hotels (@ least the facades)

Once again, it's insular. It is complacent. Lombardi would be disappointed.

At a certain point, you have to grow up. The 2024 Packers, especially on offense, have not done that. Time and time again, when it’s come to the big game, they’ve spit the bit on offense, especially in the first half. Unforced penalties. Drops. Inaccurate passes under pressure. Fumbles. Not wrapping up. This is what makes them merely a “good” team with unlimited potential and not a “great” team. I hate to say it, but I will be surprised if they make that jump in the playoffs.

But this loss isn't on the anyone, but Gute.
The secondary is just too banged up.
And in truth. The eagles won the draft thanks to him.
The eagles were re- built right.
We now will need free Agents.

This team got beat because they played slow.
Slow to recognize. Slow to execute. No protection.

This loss has nothing to do with Gutekunst.

This loss has to do with doing what a lot of fans around here have been begging for over the last two weeks but they won't admit it now- and that's MLF "having the guts to go for it on 4th down" instead of taking the FG.

This loss has more to do with WIcks dropping a critical 3rd down pass that hit him in the hands. With Reed dropping that critical 4th down pass that hit him in the hands. With Doubs dropping (2) passes that hit him in the hands. With Jacobs fumbling the ball on the first drive of the game.

This loss has to do with a broken coverage to allow Nailor to waltz into the endzone completely uncovered for a TD.

This loss has to do with an OL that has more alignment issues than a '93 Geo Metro with 400k on the odometer.

This game is the result of players not playing their best game in a big game. It's not a complete indictment of the roster. It was a poorly played game.

The team got beat because they didn't play well.. and frankly, as much as it pains me to say it, the Vikings are an excellent team.

But, sure, go ahead.. Blame Gute. It doesn't make any sense.. but go ahead and blame Gute. It's all you can do, isn't it?

You say trenches- the Packers have drafted both OL and DL every year.
That doesn't seem like very sound evidence that Gutekunst "Refused to fix" something having to do with the lines.

Why don't you tell us exactly what is 'broken' on the lines?

It's who he had a chance to draft Oppy.
You would call it looking back.
If you don't fix the DL. You'll lose.

Because you won't stop the run.

TT took CM3 and Raji. and signed Pickett.

Gute must play Wolf.
Remember his signings?
Point: Go after the All=pros on the DL.!!
He must!

Javon Kinlaw? Dj,Hill? Milton Williams?

Stop the run? Explain how the Packers lost this game due to giving up rushing yards?

The Packers Defense is #6 in the league in rush yards allowed.

It's #4 in the league in Rushing yards per carry allowed.

#9 in rushing touchdowns allowed.

#9 in 20+ yard rushes allowed.

Have not allowed a 40+ yard rush attempt in 2024.
(Tied for 4th in shortest 'long' run allowed of 39 yards).

We didn't lose this game, or any other in 2024, due to poor run defense.

So, that's a big swing and a miss for you with the "you won't stop the run" shit. Great attempt, though. Thanks for playing.

Gute has taken Wyatt and Cooper recently, Seems like they're pretty good.
Made the attempt with Walker, although he hasn't turned out.

Lastly, don't make me go into the archives and pull up your list of suggest draft picks the Packers should have taken leading up to the draft.

Wyatt gets to many concussions -
Does Clark? And he's double teamed.
Wyatt is to small. Gets pushed if he doesn't get the jump.
He'll get slower.
Most of Gute's picks are set up for the 3-4-4.
P. Smith wanted out.
The best DL push the middle. Their not small.
Especially in the legs.
Go back and watch the film.
The middle was open - A lot.
Wait till you see the snap counts.

And for your info. I took DeJean.and King Sua.
DeJean has reshaped the eagles secondary.

But recently doesn't count.
How many are all -pros does.

HE IS IS BETTER IN FREE AGENCY.
So I know why your confused.

Uh.. I'm not 100% positive, but this is the first time I ever remember anything about Wyatt even potentially having a concussion. His historical injury report has never listed a concussion- he's never been in the protocol or missed a practice or game with a concussion until the 2nd half of tonight's game the best I can tell.

Wyatt is listed at 308 lbs. That's literally the average weight for a DT in the NFL. He's intended to be a disruptive, penetrating lineman, not a nose tackle.

Who cares that Preston Smith wanted out? So did Aaron Kampman when the system changed on him. Meaningless comment- an attempt to throw something (what, I'm not sure) against the wall and see if it sticks..?

Packers held Aaron Jones to over half a yard per carry less than his season average, so I'm not sure how you figure the middle was open "a lot" tonight.

Dejean is a DB, Kingsley S. is an OL, so I guess you are guilty of "refusing to fix" the broken run defense "in the trenches"... Shame on you.

Your baseless attempts to drag Gutekunst into every perceived failure is without logic.

You missed my point.
Don't draft the DL until late.
You fix it with Free Agents.
TT did draft Raji but he signed Pickett!
Wolf signed White ,etc.
You fix the DL with Free agents.
You draft depth. Especially if No one stands out.
Gute had his chance to get clark help.
Gute drafted next man up.
All in- was never going to happen
With just clark.

Edited to not be such a dick.
Can you explain in direct, concise english what you mean when you constantly blather on about "All for the glory of Gute"?

Right now, you seem to be implying that because Gutekunst didn't use FA to solve some Defensive Line unable to stop the run problem (that doesn't exist, btw) that Gutekunst is letting his ego get in the way of his job... Is that right?

You invoke the name of Ted Thompson.. but Gutekunst clearly is far more open to utilizing Free Agency than Ted Thompson ever was.

Please, make it make sense.

Gute did decide The Invisible Man ( Rashan Gary ) was worthy of a huge MID SEASON extension last year. Quite honestly he has totally disappeared since he signed it. He’s the big pass rusher? Then we don’t have a pass rusher. Unless you just care about beating up on Rattler and the Saints.
The Vikings are better, better players, better coaches. The Packers are a good young team, but they would have to be unbelievably lucky to beat anyone really good and physical.
I don’t think they can beat Philly, Minnesota, Detroit or Tampa for that matter. I could even see Washington beating them out for the 5 seed. Daniels is playing better than Love, as uncomfortable as that sounds. He’s a rookie and looks more poised, and throws the ball better.
The Packers have regressed on offense. The 23 Packers were better.

Darnold had only 10 incompletions and threw the ball a ton! Go back and look at the incompletions. 6 of the10 happened with pressure. We need to find a way to pressure the QB consistently, or we will keep replicating this outcome.

Positive: For those who wanted to trade Doubs, again he was the "go to" receiver in a big game. We missed Watson...very few deep balls this game. Jacobs, Cooper, Kraft, all played well.

Why did we not utilize Kraft, Musgrave, and our RBs in the passing game early?

Can we go back to coaching please? Lining-up improperly at the line, not getting out of bounds when we should, throwing the ball away-instead of taking a sack, taking points in the 1st half. How about in-game demeanor?

We used Kraft and Musgrave to block thus allowing the vikes d backs to blanking our few receivers who really were never open.
Ya that short 8 yard pass to the tight end for first downs like the vikes do over and over aren't in the Packers game plan against rushing teams.
LeFleur also is a were a run first team. Ya that doesn't develop your passing game and you hurn your own clock when playing catch up.

This point about the drops is fair, Oppy. I don't recall both drops, only one. Regardless, gotta make the catch.

Jordan can help the situation out too, by being more accurate (which has been an issue for him). The one drop by Reed over the middle on 4th down, still should have been caught, but the throw is off by a step, causing him to dive for the ball. Meanwhile, Darnold is hitting his guys on stride for the most part.

I don't think that ball is off by a step. It was put out in front of the WR where the defender wouldn't be able to interfere with the catch. Either way- when you get both hands on the ball, you need to make that catch.

This isn't an isolated problem. As I've noted a few times over the last few days, Packers lead the league in drop percentage, and 3 of our 4 top WRs are in the top 15 worst drop percentages in the entire league across all players (not just WRs). Yesterday, there were 4 drive-killing drops by 3 of our WRs.

It's a real problem.

Coaching is awful—too many game time mistakes.
Where is the fire in the players? They seem almost bored. I want a coach with emotion that translates to the players! (Like Bill Cowher)
Same old plays over and over. Stale.
Receivers need to stop dropping the 🏈 !! This is what they get paid to do—catch it!
No pass rush to speak of
Still so many injuries year after year after year after year.
So tired of 3rd down long passes with no chance of completion rather than just trying to pick up the first down.
So many frustrating things about the team

Against good teams this year, it's been a choke job on offense in the first half. Drops, penalties, love chucking deep balls into double coverage, guys missing blocks they don't normally miss. There is something missing in this passing game on top of that. Brady said it was the intermediate throws. But I also think, that on third downs or In the red zone, love doesn't have ONE guy that he can just mind meld with for the first down, to keep the Chains moving. He just has his progressions. It's been doubs sometimes, Watson sometimes, I hoped it'd be kraft. He has no security blanket. And it huge games like this, a young QB needs that.

Got stuck listening to the Vikings radio feed for the first half as we drove home from family Christmas.
First off: what a bunch of shitty homers. I hope Detroit pounds the shit out of the Vikes next week and makes it hurt just so we can hear Paul Allen cry...again.
Second: their color guy said before the kickoff that Keisean Nixon and his way-too-many defensive holding calls can't cover Addison or Jefferson and that they should throw at him all day.
Third: their color guy pointed out that the Packers were afraid to bring more than four in the first half because they couldn't cover the Vikes' pass-catchers by bringing an extra guy.

Bottom line is, the announcers were right.
Short Alexander, the Packers can't cover the stronger and deeper teams they'll run into in the playoffs. They won't be able to handle Philly or MIN. I actually like their chances against Detroit better than either of those teams.

MIN basically said: sure, run the football. But without Watson, we're not afraid of you going up top and we're going to pressure Love and make you take dump offs rather than make chunk plays downfield. Packers didn't have a play from scrimmage of more than 18 yards until they were down 27-10.

In the end, they're stuck now hoping Washington spits the bit against Atlanta or Dallas so they don't have to go to Philly in the WC round.

I got the distinct impression that for whatever reason, MLF and Love were not on the same page tonight on how to attack the Vikings defense.

Lots of shots of Love shaking his head, No, No, No, inbetween plays, as though MLF was suggesting plays or strategies and Love wasn't feeling it.

Lots of shots of MLF on the sidelines talking to the air (assuming to Love over the headset) where he looked frustrated and/or aggrivated.

Could have been anything, but that's my gut takeaway.
Despite brady's fawning over Aaron Jones tonight, I thought that Josh Jacobs was one step away from nothing but open field on more than a half dozen touches tonight. I don't fault the Packers for sticking with the run because Jacobs was hitting it hard. Unfortunately, it got to the point where it had to be abandoned.

At the end of the day, this wasn't really a close game. It certainly wasn't as close as the final score would suggest. Packers did not play their "A" game against an "A" opponent. I'm not sure more aggression would have yielded better results. When players are dropping passes and fumbling, it doesn't really matter if you decided to go deep or not.

The Vikings outplayed the Packers. Our depleted secondary did an admirable job early to hold the Vikings somewhat in check, but ultimately, they couldn't keep it clamped. Combine that with our struggling offense.. it is what it is.

Gotta play your best this time of year, the offense certainly did not.

The season starts in two weeks. I knew there'd be massive gnashing of teeth when I opened the site, but honestly, this game was close and the two turnovers (one on downs) were the difference.

Reed catches that ball, and Jacobs holds onto the ball and who knows. Fine margins.

I do think LaFleur called too cautious of a game for the first three quarters. He did his defense no favors. For the hundredth time, all gas no brakes my ass.

Not on the pass rush they are not. Wyatt was concussed also...that didn't help. Gute needed a big DE upgrade and the more times he doesn't make "THE DEAL" the more we will never go to the show. We need 2 better DE's and honestly 2-better DL to push the pocket...and an Elite CB1 who is healthy. Also a top tier #1 WR with Elite speed. 2-Bigger stronger OL. That's quite a bit of holes to fill.

That’s twice that Flores totally out coached MLF.
And I don’t want to hear about Alexander ever again. I hope he’s gone for any middle round pick. Had they dumped him after his coin flip bs they could have gotten a third round pick. Now with his injuries, poor tackling and baggage .. I just want him gone.

Let's look at this from the perspective of the Vikes.
1. They are young and talented on both sides the ball.
2. They have a super D coach and one of the most complicated d schemes if the NFL ,- takes time to learn and practice this
3. They don't sit on laurels. They went and got a QB rather then stick with three guys who sucked. No development here, they want to win now. Hey have 4 qbs all of whom can play if needed.
4. they drafted wisely picking the top receivers in several drafts and acquiring top tight ends who were available.
5. They drafted and obtained free agent pass rushers dumping older guys like hunter.
6. They pay attention to guys who are smart and can learn. Thus very few dump penalties that kill drives..

Thus today is just one day in many to come dominated by the vikes. They draft, trade and acquire talent and get rid of deadwood guys who aren't performing. This is way the Packers will cave to the vikes, were just not in the same league as them and that's a tv announcer saying that.

Love had 64 yards passing through the first three and a half quarters and Hes our future?
Keep in mind there first round qb got hurt and they brought someone in who won 14 games. Our guy bench sat three years and looks like crap at times.
We have stokes, Alexander and walker, first round picks who are deadwood but they won't get rid of them because it makes Gutt look bad. It's all about playing for Gutt not the fans.
Cooper is twice the player of walker but sat on the bench so gutts guy could play. Kraft sat so Muskgrave could be the star.

I like what Dragon5 said about Love being treated as a game manager. GB is now relying too much on Jacobs and they have neutralized Love. The Packers have a good QB- He needs to be able to get in rhythm, sling it and be allowed to make a few mistakes.
Heck, there is nothing to lose @ this point. We are not going to beat the Eagles, Bills, likely Lions.

I am much more concerned about the lack of Pass Rush. I would bench LVN. There is no reason he can't learn a basic move or two. Will McDonald from the Jets was in LVN's Class and while he is rough and needs refinement-he has 5 QB pressures and 8 sacks. Gary and Clark rarely get home anymore-Gary is only 27-WTF? Something needs to change or will the Packers remain in denial? I think they will remain in denial.

CB Room: 4 non-starting caliber players-Valentine, Nixon, Ballantine, Stokes. I don't count a guy who plays 30%

This was a total first half filled with offensive errors. We killed ourselves with Jacobs fumble, and then the drop on the 4th down play. A lot of this is on Lafleur as well - there was very little motion in the first half and Love sat there mesmerized and of course the Oline couldnt hold up - which gave them the momentum. We should have easily scored more in the first half - and I believe that the fourth down call was good. Cant line up properly at this level - several times. Geez. Games can be won and lost by refs calls - and some of the refereeing was suspect on both sides - low blocks? Offside on the field goal by a few knuckles. I mean I saw m- ore than a few holds by the Minnesota Oline.
Now our D never got through - their Oline played better than ours - but we continually let them work the flat for big yards - you cannot let the tight end and Jones et al leak out of the backfield and pick up big yards. So we lost by 2 points and didnt play well - that is Ok . Time to play everybody ( except those who need body maintenance ) and beat the Bears.

Yeah they lost by two points on the scoreboard.. but Love himself said the key to the comeback was the Vikings started playing soft.
Love is not the next Favre or Rodgers.. he might be the next Lynn Dickey , which isn’t so bad.
Love was better last year. Jayden Daniels is already better than Love, and soon Washington will be better than the Packers. Our defense is overrated. I give Hafley a lot of credit..Clark, Gary, Wilson, Walker, Stokes, McDuffie are not a bright future for the defense.
They need an awful lot this offseason.

Come on guys - Washington used to have a running QB - remember RG3 - these guys just dont last - If I was on the other team - I would pound him and pound him even if it meant a roughing the passer penalty. Miami - Arizona - even Hurts - they all eventually have to learn not to run those RPO's or suffer the consequences. I thought that the Pack was ill prepared - although ( not Lafleur's ) the O killed themselves in the first half - Jacobs fumble and the drops in the first half. That changed the game - at the end of the first half we could have /should have been ahead or at least tied. Then the momentum changed in the 3rd quarter - when we got bulldozed by them. Now not a fan of our defensive adjustments all season long - a big weakness is the dump offs in the flat. And when we didnt get to the QB they hit some long shots due to inexperience on the back end. But our biggest problem is we simply dont have the types of players to cover those outside plays and they dink and dunk us when we dont get to their QB. But finally we are still the youngest team in the league - never mind the playoffs.

While it would have been nice as a point of pride to win this game it really wasn't going to strategically change their playoff position and perhaps stinking at this time will produce a beneficial wake up and recommitment for the post season. Huge difference in playoff position. Winning out gave a good shot at the 5 seed and playing the South winner. Now real chance of a 7 seed even with a win next week. 7 seed? That means Det or Minn or Phil on the road. Haven't seen that the Pack can win such a game. In fact they have specifically NOT beaten those teams.

We were supposed to get smoked by the Cowboys last year - and we could have beaten the 49ers - with a little bit of luck and a couple of plays. That's why you get to the dance - we are in the dance and anything can happen. I think that we can beat the Lions - and if Phillie doesnt have Hurts - or if Hurts is afraid to run after his second concussion - we need to stop Barkley which we can. And last night we proved that we can beat the Vikes - just dont beat ourselves - fumbles and drops and stop the plays in the flat

Glass half full take here. Love got hurt, took a while to get his legs back, then we played a bunch of mediocre teams and just basically let Josh Jacobs win the games for us, with love not really having to do much. This game was a true test, no Watson to go deep, and Jacobs fumbled the first drive away and was shut down when it mattered most. Yes, love failed. But I have faith in the kid. We've seen him light it up before. This game was definitely a playoff atmosphere, and a learning experience. Let's just wait and see before we burn the Internet down.

He's 0-5 against VERY good coaches and GOOD teams this year. But to be fair, this team is lacking when compared to Jefferson & Addison.

Our offense needs a #1 WR very, VERY, badly. Reed disappears, to often and Doubs is a #3 or low end #2 at best. Watson may have helped in this game but he's no #1 either and Wicks certainly isn't.

When Zayne Anderson went I out I knew we were cooked. They were already in trouble but that sealed their fate.

Jesus Christ LaFleur, take the fucking points!!

Thanks, man. I needed this kind of laugh to fix my spirits.

It's not that crazy of a statement, Zayne Anderson actually has a PFF grade of over 80 at Safety. He's played very well, actually equally well against the pass and run.

Already down Williams and then losing the dude who practiced the last 2 weeks with the starting defense and played really well last week?

Judging by Darnold looking like Brady again, Anderson definitely could have helped.

We could be fine at WR if they get the drops under control.

Let me start off by saying I love this diverse and talented WR corps.

That said, I started a small shit-storm a number of days ago when another commenter claimed it was the best WR corps in the league, and I had the audacity to point out that they drop the ball too much as a group.

Green Bay leads the league in drop percentage in 2024. WIcks leads the league in drop percentage. Reed is in the top ten. Doubs is in the top 15.

I made the comment that it's unacceptable to lead the league as a team in drops. That's it's unacceptable to have 3 players in the top 15 in drop percentage. I also made the statement that drops kill drives and stalled drives end up losing big games.

Well, today, Wicks dropped one on 3rd down. Reed dropped one on 4th down. Doubs dropped 2, one of them on 3rd down.

We have unlimited talent potential at WR. I can't stress enough how much I like these players. They 100% absolutely MUST correct the drops.

FGs made or not is pretty much beside the point in this game. Mid-way through the 4th quarter the Pack had been outgained by about 150 yards. Minnesota owned the LOS. Putting up points on prevent Ds is something you would hope GB could do and at least they did. They were not a team that showed it is ready to make a run. Minnesota absolutely looks like it is.

The Packers beat up on the weak teams but they get beaten up by the good teams. Out prepared, out coached and out played yet again. If this was a playoff preview it was not a good one.

MLF can’t get his team ready to win against good teams. They come out flat and the games are usually over at halftime. Then the Packers fight back in the second half and they come up short, too little, too late.

We’ve seen this film before and we’ll probably see it again in January. Thanks, Since ‘61

We’ve seen this film before and we’ll probably see it again……..it is an endless loop with slightly different characters interjected with the same beginning and ending.

Am not a MLF fan. He and his coaches just don’t command the respect and therefore the performance of the players. Where is the fire and emotion?? If you can’t coach and call the plays then don’t try to do both

Gute has wasted too much Draft Capital on failed D-picks. In addition, the team over-rewards players who immediately regress, never to be seen again.
How about choosing more wisely in the first place, developing a good D foundation and then having capital to spend on a real WR #1-2 GB has moderately good receivers but none of them are anywhere near the level of Jefferson or Addison---or Chase or...

There is way too much financial churn on the D. The Offense is shorted.

I got down voted last week when I questioned whether MLF is good enough to get us to the SB but this week I have plenty of company. I didn't see the whole game cuz we had a family party but what I did see and heard was another week where the Packers didn't play to their potential. And that's all on MLF. Forget the field goal points as Vikings were comfortably ahead anyways and missed FG's too. And yes, JA is out. But without the stupid mistakes, drops and fumbles, maybe the outcome could have been different. We probably aren't as good as Vikes, but the best team doesn't always win if the other team plays better. But there is something wrong with MLF's coaching that has the Packers play poorly in big games.

And JL certainly did not look like he knew what he was doing when under pressure. That was really an eye opener. For all those that said he is elite - what do you have to say now?
I wonder how Willis would have done today?

This was quite a reality check game.
Sad to say, but SB is now just a long shot hope.

Bears shouldn't be a problem. We could beat the Rams. Mostly likely lose to Philly.

Realistically.. it’s 50-50 that “JA” ever plays for GB again. I would say his low IQ ( stupid dead ball penalties the coin flip bs ) poor to non existent tackling , and fragile body make him a giant good bye after this season.
If you can’t suit up, you’re worthless. It’s been years since he’s been a top corner. He maxed out as a rookie.

He's a top 5-10 CB when he's healthy.

He has certainly made bone-headed mistakes, but he's also clearly an intelligent young man. I'd certainly love to see you and Jaire sit down for a "dueling Wonderlic" showdown. It'd be fun!

He has been an aggressive tackler that will recklessly throw his body into the fray.

Yes, he is injury prone, and that's the big problem.

I understand the frustration. His availability is a big issue, and I agree he may not be a Packer for long.. but can't you be a bit more level headed in your assessment of him?

Vikings top 3 WR's are better than any GB WR. Vikings supposed porous OL was never really creased by our 4 or 5 man rush. Our new RB-run first identity does not travel to dome teams in the playoffs without outside weather to be it's friend. The run first-Always needs to go away completely the rest of the way until we face a team playing outdoors. We need a bunch of shorter plays available to move the chains instead. Our young WR's were a strong suit last season....now nobody can hold onto a ball. I don't see hardly ANY dropped balls by the Vikings. JL needs to throw A LOT MORE the rest of the way. I like Jacobs run angry style, but we need bigger, stronger OL to make it work. A faster type offense to go with our young WR's would be a Barkley type RB instead. Vikings are better coached with better WR's and overall better defense.

Next season: Top DE available in FA .
Top CB available in FA.
Pocket pushing DL in FA.
Burn 2-#1s picks and get a legit #1 WR in the draft that can catch the ball and run routes getting separation.
Pick top OC in draft

Everything that can be said has been said in the comments above. This loss was absolutely disgusting. The Packers self-destructive mistakes are indefensible and inexcusable. Why in the heck did LaFleuzy pass on that early FG and go for it against a defense that was out to shred them. Week 17 and we still see lining up in the neutral zone, stupid fumbles, false starts when our players KNOW the snapcount, holding to bring back major gains, dropped balls. Did we just get out of training camp? This was an embarrassment and drops the Pack as a legitimate playoff team. They made the playoffs alright, but they won't be there long! I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, But I don't think I'll need the carving knife too soon.

If you watched Love’s presser he actually stated the Packers started scoring because the Vikings started playing soft.
The Vikings are clearly better at every skill position on both sides of the ball with the exception of Jacobs and maybe Craft. None of our WRs could start in Minnesota.
On defense, we should have dumped Alexander last year and got something for him. Gary was a bad extension I’m sure Gute regrets. Kenny Clark doesn’t cut it against the better teams. Obviously Stokes is gone , probably Wilson , McDuffie and Nixon too.
A couple of free agents and a good draft and we can move from a ( likely ) 7 seed to a top two seed.
Actually I think they were a better team last year. Seems like MLF is too addicted to Josh Jacobs. He production is way down the last four games.
At least we found a kicker.

My opinion is that MLF will never lead the Packers to the Super Bowl, he's just not a good enough head coach...should be a OC somewhere, he's, to me, more like a Staley or Kingsbury maybe a Zak Taylor...he sure aint a Vrabel or Reid, or a KOC or Campbell...I dont think he ever will be..he came in riding the coattails of Rodgers and now he cant help Love grow into a franchise QB...except he is the franchise QB so someone has to help him grow...the staff MLF has is mid level as well...I didnt really understand when they went and got MLF and I still dont...he is cute though...tough as nails...nah...

I am beginning to agree with you (see my comments in the Good, Bad & the Ugly article). He is costing us games. He routinely makes bad decisions that cost us yards, 1st downs and points. He routinely gambles and loses, and routinely calls plays that fail and the fail again. He needs to go to Coaches Anonymous!

Mark Murphy wanted (and got) control and he chose men whom he could control-MLF, Gute and I think Ed Policy as well.
He is retiring this July but my gut tells me he will wield influence after he 'retires'
Green Bay does not have a top tier GM/HC.

that's the point. all start from the top, murphy. 2010 SB, rodgers, ted thompson were on the harlan tree. then after ted resigned murphy took complete control and he hired only yes-men.
gutekunst in his 1st year was different, aggressive he liked to take risks...but later he becne different and that's because of murphy.
murphy does not care about SB he just wants good seasons, a wild card game, the north. he is terrorized by negative season for financial reasons and he told that on interviews.
murphy is not in the vince lombardi path.

Packers really need to do a better job at looking which players to resign. Alot of money into Jaire, Clark, Gary and Love for them to be playing average.
