Steelers Add DL Steve McLendon to Active Roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed defensive lineman Steve McLendon off the practice squad.

Signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2009, McLendon spent all of last season on Pittsburgh's practice squad. After opening this season on the practice squad, McLendon was activated for games against the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens this season, recording his first NFL tackle and fumble recovery in his regular season debut.

McLendon is expected to be active for Sunday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Rookie linebacker Thaddeus Gibson has been waived to add McLendon to the roster.

A fourth-round pick out of Ohio State, Gibson (6-2, 240) has been a gameday inactive in each of the Steelers' six games this season.
