The Washington Redskins announced that safety Chris Horton has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

A seventh-round pick (249th overall) out of UCLA in 2008, Horton started 15 of his 22 games over his first two seasons in the NFL, totaling 113 tackles, 1 quarterback sack, and interceptions. In seven games in a reserve role this season, Horton has 9 tackles, seven of which on special teams.

Safety Anderson Russell has been signed off the practice squad to replace Horton, with safety Sha'Reff Rashad signed to take Russell's place on the practice squad.

The Redskins also confirmed the signing of wide receiver Taurus Johnson to the practice squad, filling the spot vacated when Ray Small was released from the eight-man squad last week.

Rashad is a first-year player out of Central Florida who spent much of the last two seasons with the New York Giants. Johnson (6-1, 205) is a first-year player from South Florida who has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and Cleveland Browns.
