Patriots to Sign K Shayne Graham

The New England Patriots will sign free agent kicker Shayne Graham, reports Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

Graham is being signed to temporarily handle the kicking duties for Stephen Gostkowski, who is expected to miss the next few weeks with an injured quadriceps.

In nine NFL seasons, Graham has connected on 196-of-230 field goal attempts, earning Pro Bowl honors after the 2005 seasons. Graham was 23-of-28 on field goals for the Bengals last season, but was not re-signed after missing on two chip-shot field goals during a playoff loss to the New York Jets.

Graham spent the summer with the Baltimore Ravens, and spent Week 6 with the New York Giants after Lawrence Tynes sprained the ankle on his plant leg during that Friday's practice. Graham kicked four extra points and had a touchback on one of his five kickoffs before he was waived the following week.
