Griese, Hutchinson, Woodson Raise Over $1M for Children's Hospital

It just it's fourth year, an annual golf tournament/banquet hosted by former University of Michigan football players Brian Griese, Steve Hutchinson, and Charles Woodson has raised over $1 million dollars to benefit the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital on the school's Ann Arbor campus.

"To raise a million dollars, in this economy, in this state, is not a small feat," Griese told Michael Rothstein of AnnArbor.com this morning. "That was our goal. It was clearly stated, a lot of things came together to accomplish it, but that was a goal of ours."

Rothstein reports the event had raised just over $1.2 million in it's first three years combined before topping the $1 million dollar mark this year.

"We were talking the other night, when the hospital is built and 18 months from now when it is opening and running, what direction are we going to go with it," said Hutchinson. "We have some options, whether it is going to continue to fund research, whatever the next step or option might be.

"I think people expect this and look forward to being able to contribute, so we’d be doing a lot of people an injustice if we were to not to continue."

It is very cool! Now it is difficult to arrange your child even in a kindergarten.

I appreciate what people do in order to help children. And it is not only about treatment but about education as well. I've noticed that some of the private schools and daycares allow getting financial help. So kids can participate in a usual life of a society. My daughter goes to the Little Scholars Infant Day Care Brooklyn. As I know, they also help families that cannot afford children's education. Due to such kind ideas, we can keep balance in our society. Thanks to all those people who donate to charity!
