Falcons Reach Deals With Pair of Picks

Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with fourth-round offensive lineman Joe Hawley and fifth-round cornerback Dominique Franks.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hawley was a three-year starter at UNLV, starting games at center and right guard. The 6-3, 297-pound Hawley, who did 35 reps on the bench press at the 2010 Scouting Combine, will likely play a backup role at center and guard for the Falcons, and could contend for a starting job in 2011 or 2012.

Franks (5-11, 194) was a two-year starter at Oklahoma, playing the "Field" corner position for the Sooners. Franks totaled 95 tackles and six interceptions during his career, returning two for touchdowns. Franks added a fumble return for a touchdown in 2009, when he was named first-team All-Big 12.

Franks also returned kicks and punts for the Sooners, and could compete for that role with the Falcons.

Hawley and Franks are the third and fourth members of the Falcons' seven member draft class to sign or agree to contracts, joining third-round defensive tackle Corey Peters and sixth-round safety Shann Schillinger.
