Dolphins WR Brian Hartline's Truck Abandoned at Scene of Accident

Attorney claims Hartline is okay but details of the incident are still unknown.

Miami Dolphins second-year wide receiver Brian Hartline's pickup truck was found abandoned at the scene of an accident by the Florida Highway Patrol on Interstate 595 earlier this month, the Sun Sentinel reports.

"His vehicle ran off road and hit the parked car," said FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky. "We don't know who was driving the vehicle."

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30am on July 3. When an FHP trooper went to Hartline's house, a guest requested that the trooper contact Hartline's wife, who was in California. Hartline's attorney returned the trooper's message, stating that Hartline was not injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol have yet to hear from Hartline, and are still investigating the accident.

A fourth-round pick out of Ohio State in 2009, Hartline caught 31 passes for 506 yards and 3 touchdowns as a rookie. The 6-2, 186-pound wideout is expected to compete with Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess for a starting job opposite Brandon Marshall.

Hartline's accident is the latest in what's been a tumultuous off-season for the franchise. Defensive lineman Tony McDaniel was arrested for misdemeanor battery in February, cornerback Will Allen and running back Ronnie Brown were arrested for DUI, and defensive end Phillip Merling was arrested after allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.

The Dolphins traded for Marshall, who has multiple arrests for domestic battery and DUI, in April.
