Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown Participating in OTAs

Miami Dolphins restricted free agent running back Ronnie Brown has yet to sign his one-year tender, but is participating in the first of the Dolphins' "Organized Team Activity" sessions this morning, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Brown, who was tendered at the "First Round" level, finished last season on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Not participating in the Dolphins' OTAs is guard Justin Smiley, reports Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Under contract through the 2012 season, Smiley (6-3, 311) has started 27 games at left guard over the last two seasons. Smiley, 28, has been on the trading block throughout the off-season, but has a troublesome right shoulder that never responded to surgery following the 2007 season. With a $2.9 million dollar base salary for 2010, and no trade partner in sight, the Dolphins are likely to release Smiley at some point this summer, and do not want to expose him to an injury during the OTAs.

Third-year guard Donald Thomas is getting the first-team reps at left guard, with free agent signee Richie Incognito working at right guard.
