Dolphins K Dan Carpenter Signs 3-Yr Extension

According to NFLPA records, Miami Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter signed a three-year extension worth at least $6.205 million dollars.

Carpenter signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Montana in 2008. Carpenter beat out Jay Feely during training camp, and in two seasons, has connected on 46-of-53 (86.8%) of field goal attempts, with a career long of 52 yards.

Carpenter's $470,000 base salary for 2010 remains, and the 2009 Pro Bowler will make base salaries of $1.005M in 2011, $2.525M in 2012, and $2.675M in 2013.

In addition to Carpenter, the Dolphins have signed long-snapper John Denney, punter Brandon Fields, and inside linebacker/core special teamer Tim Dobbins to multi-year extensions this off-season.
