Broncos RB Laurence Maroney Arrested in St. Louis

Denver Broncos running back Laurence Maroney was arrested on unlawful weapons charges in St. Louis on Monday night, KMOV in St. Louis reports.

Few details are available, but KMOV's report says the arrest occurred when Maroney and three other men were pulled over late Monday night.

A first-round pick out of the University of Minnesota, Maroney rushed fofr 2,430 yards and 21 touchdowns in 45 games before he was traded to the Denver Broncos one week into the 2010 season.

In four games for the Broncos, Maroney had 36 carries for 74 yards, with 4 receptions for 50 yards, but was inactive for the final eight games of the regular season.

Maroney's rookie contract is expiring.
