Packers to be without Bakhtiari and Jenkins vs Vikings
Yosh Nijman will start in Bakhtiari's place at left tackle.
By PackerAaron
Per NFL Network, the Packers will be without their starting tackles for Sunday's season opener vs the Vikings.
Both David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins will be in street clothes when the team's kick off the 2022 season at US Bank Stadium.
Bakhtiari was listed as questionable with the knee injury that caused him to miss almost all of last season, while Jenkins was listed as questionable with a knee injury and a pectoral injury.
Allen Lazard is also unlikely to play today due to an ankle injury.

Aaron why did they wait till the week of the game to get D Bac live reps with the 1's. It should have been done the week prior. If he wasn't ready they could have given the starters today a full week of practice.

They must have thought he had a good chance of playing this week. Maybe it's good in a way that they really thought he was that close. Or maybe it's just a reflection of how desperately they wanted him to play.

It’s only a surprise because they had been talking about them playing.
Nijman is our starting LT. If we get any help from Bakhtiari, great. I don’t know who is our starting RT until Jenkins is ready. Probably Tom or Newman.

I wasnt he's biggest fan but Billy Turner was steady at R.T. I didn't want to cut him.

According to Bleacher report today Bak out already next week as well against the Bears. Seems to me Bak career is over and never play another Packer down.

Then why did they activate him? ...not put him on IR after cuts?

dobber it's a joke what they have done with him. Should have picked up a veteran at tackle for better depth.

Jenkins may sit for bears also given that bears are a train wreck and would give another week of healing

Where did you read it over there that he wasnt playing against the Bears too, I don't see that info anywhere? Perhaps you misunderstood, I think if he's listed as questionable he's 50 /50, that doesn't sound like they know for sure yet but he's got to be close, but yes I do think its getting a bit old and he needs to see the field soon or the Packers should fill the roster spot with somebody that can contribute.

Like I said it was on the Packer Blecher Report he won't play against Bears as well! Wouldn't report something I didn't read. What would be my purpose to lie about something like that?

If we get him on the field, is he going to be the guy he was before the injury? Is he going to be a clear upgrade over Nijman?

Ya but we gave him the bank. Why. He has cost the team a lot of free agents due to his greed

Definitely a bummer but not total surprise. Aaron Rodgers going to be under constant duress in this game.
Makes me think about most of us when you get injured at work (workers comp) you get 66 & 2/3rds of your salary. These guys get their full salary whether playing or not. Pretty sweet for them!

Bak…the one in 100,000 ACL surgeries with the latest technology that ends his career? 😢

Offense Line is the position group I'm most concerned about. This doesn't help, but I'm still optimistic at this point. But, if Bakh can't go in the next few games, then this is most likely a career ending injury. I feel better about Jenkins. He probably just needs a couple few more games since the injury is a bit more recent. Jenkins is also more important. His versatility outweighs David's LT spot. I'm hopeful he comes back without issue. In the meantime, I think Nijim at Left will be fine. I'd also like to see Walker at RT before any combination of Newman/Hanson/Tom on the right side. Zach Tom has more upside, even if a little light, but seems to have better technique. Heck, I'd even call up Caleb Jones at RT. Sean Rhyan is a puzzle. He supposedly has good athleticism, so I'm guessing it's the mental side he is struggling with. Also hopeful he figures it out before end of season. Rookies have started before with solid results. Butkus/Stenavich/LaFleur need to figure this out soon. This group will affect the offense more than any WR combination.
