Packers to activate Jaire Alexander to 53 man roster
The team's number one cornerback had to be activated today or miss the rest of the season.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said cornerback Jaire Alexander will be activated to the 53 man roster later today.
Alexander has been out since suffering a shoulder injury during the team's Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Alexander, a 2nd team All Pro last season, did not have season-ending surgery on the shoulder in an attempt to return this year. The Packers had opened a 21 day window three weeks ago when Alexander was allowed back on the practice field. The team had to activate him today or lose him for the remainder of the 2021 season. His activation does not mean he will necessarily play right away or indeed, even practice much more than he has been. When asked if Alexander would be available immediately, LaFleur indicated that he would be worked back in "gradually."
While it would be a surprise to see him out there on Sunday night, seeing the Packers number one cornerback return to the field in Detroit in a very limited fashion during the regular season finale is a possibility.

We could sure use him in some obvious passing situations versus the Vikings' high octane passing offense. However, if he is still not fully in condition or healthy , why risk it.

Totally agree. I would love to see him out there on sunday, we definately could use him but if he's not game ready yet, don't risk it.. I would like to see him against the lions though just to get the rust off for the playoffs..

I'd like to see him as a possible blitzer as a slot CB or the "star" position.

Ouch, maybe next year but for now I'd like to keep him further away from LOS to prevent reinjuring his shoulder. Keep him outside!
It is going to be mentally tough as it is to lower his shoulder making a tackle, or extending arm out while diving to deflect a pass.

Jaire Alexander is the kind of player that can make a difference just by being activated.. His presence alone will elevate the teams morale. I look forward to seeing him in action again.

Rumor is they did this so he may be available for the playoffs but would not play Sunday or next week?

Good to see. Nice to have him for the tournament, and If he doesn't play for the remainder of the regular season, he'll have taken a roster spot away from a guy who'll hold on a special teams play negating a 96 yard return for a TD.

GB should have activated Jaire if there is any chance of his return in time for a playoff game. They did that today. I assume that the chance is greater than the Jim Carrey meme.
