Packers Tender All of their Exclusive Rights Free Agents

Well, we now know the Packers will be bringing back five players they could have let walk from last year's roster.

In order of imortance (my opinion), and based on the current roster construction:

WR Alan Lazard

CB Chandon Sullivan

TE Robert Tonyan

DL Tyler Lancaster

WR Jake Kumerow

And let the 3 best inside linebackers get away, Kwitakoski, Littleton and Shobert, nice job Gute.

LP thinks the Packers are living in a no salary cap restricted world - if only. Gute has to try to fill the roster, not blow his limited cap space on one player at a position they don't even feature.

You've made your opinion more than clear.
Time to move on.
You're starting to rival Tincada for beating the dead horse.

14.7 . How do they sign Clark? This is exactly why he should have been signed sooner.

If there's the bump in cap they're talking about with new media contracts, it shouldn't be an issue.

Clark is on contract for the fifth year and they can franchise him in 2021. If he gains a probowl or All Pro designation then he will command top pay. Dropping 21M on Buckner seems an overpay. They have picks in the 2020 and 2021 draft to weigh against Clark. Bhaktiari is a guy that will command the new deal first if he maintains his health this season. Taylor will probably be released pushing the CAP up a bit for a play on a fair value DT/DE. See what happens on Wed.

They needed to do it before FA. He will be a UFA 2021, next year. It will costs them more now, and this now will come down to Bahk or Clark. Doubt they Franchise either.

The CAP will be move up depending upon the Systemic Risk associated with an unpredictable and deadly COVID-19. We do not know how the season will play out. They have leverage over Clark. There are four primo positions in pro football that have to be maintained by superior players: QB, CB, Pass Rusher and LT.

Hate the Raiders.OK the Big 3 ILB's are gone and we haven't signed KC yet. We have signed our 5 ERFA's
We need a DT, NOW.. Has Michael Pierce DT from the Ravens signed?
Come on Gutey and the guy Asst. Gm formerly of the Ravens. Or trade a draft pick to the Browns for Ogunjobi

If Hendrickson was in love with Pierce , he would already be onboard. Play out the week.

I agree with Lare and Coachdino. With the Raiders paying up for two highest / publicized ILB , it also lowers their possibility of grabbing an ILB in the April draft where most mocks have the raiders taking a queen or McKenna .
Gutey has shown patience in the past. I just disappointed

The packers aren't playing Fantasy Football or under the USA Government Spending Rules. There is a HARD CAP.

Negotiations are underway. Time is on the Packers side. There are DT guys out there - The Price for Shobert is down from the projected market so that may come into play. The leverage is moving from FA Players to Buyers. The draft will also be impacted. ILB will more likely to fall down the board with teams with need signing FA... BIG PICTURE.

There are more than three ILBs in this draft. Value in the third and fourth rounds.

Amazing how teams with no cap space are making big money deals, Bears , Cowboys , and the Packers waste money on damaged goods, I can’t wait for 2 down lineman on running downs and Burks covering the middle.

Like the Bills over paying for Diggs. Spielman fleeced them or the Bills didn't think this class of WRs was all that good in the first round.

24 Bears players are free agents in 2020 and 30 in 2021. Those "big money" signings will be playing with a bunch of Semi-Pro guys. Great way to build a roster, right? Cowboys had 10M more in cap space than the Packers with 24 free agents this year and they've already lost four top free agent players and seven in all. More to come. Just to sign Amari Cooper. More great strategy, right?

Too much griping going on here about some of the moves, or lack thereof. There's no point in overpaying your own guys when it's time to move on, and Gute is doing the smart thing by filling needs with reasonably-priced players so he has the flexibility to draft the BPA's. We really need to have a solid draft this time, more so than usual. People had to expect that the Packers weren't going on any big spending sprees like they did last off-season. But I'm still hoping for a little D-line help.
