ESPN Wisconsin reports Packers rookies won't begin camp on the originally scheduled date.

Still some important work to be done by the league and players union. In the meantime, the start of Packers camp is delayed.

And so it begins. Or maybe it ends. First the delays and then the cancelation announcements. We’ll see but time is running out to protect the players, coaches and stadium staffs and to establish protocols for infections among the teams.

Goodell should have been working on this since May or June at the latest. Thanks, Since ‘61

There seem to be so many uncertainties surrounding the start up of the season, it’s difficult to imagine that it will be pulled off. Today the Giants and the Jets announced that they will have no fans at any home games this year. On July 3, the Packers announced that they will reduce the stadium capacity in someway and that they were releasing all season ticket holders from the obligation to take tickets this year but would still retain their season-ticket rights. Then they announced that the one preseason game at home would be played without fans. They said a questionnaire would be sent out soon So as to ascertain what the STH wish to do regarding tickets this year, but we’ve heard nothing since. It’s hard to imagine that they have not asked yet which of their STH want to attend this year. That way they at least have an idea of how many people they need to try to accommodate. In any event, let’s all hope that the season will proceed with all 16 games and with at least some fans in attendance, but don’t really count on it.

As expected from the NFL. I can not express the depths of contempt I hold Rodger Goodell in. Both the NBA and MLB got buy in from the union right away on health protocols. The NFL waited until the last frigging moment to start talks. If the owners want to cancel the season, then just do it and take the hit in wallet already. So incompetent...
