Packers release RB Lavon Coleman

For a few miniutes on Monday morning, it appeared the Packers had reached their 90 man roster limit.

Then they made another move.

The team announced early Monday afternoon that they have released running back Lavon Coleman. He was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 31, 2018, and promoted to the active roster on Dec. 22, 2018, appearing in the Jets game last season.

The move leaves the Packers with one spot open on their 90 man offseason roster.

Lavon Coleman played in the Jets game last year? Must have blacked out by then.

He could have been a contender! Just needed more time, another league, and quicker moves.

With drafting Dexter Williams...he became expendable.

I think he was expendable before that. Thanks, Since ‘61

Why would some if you make jokes about a player being released? I saw an interview with him last year and he said it was a dream come true to wear a Packer uniform and be a Packer and he knew it would not last but said it was the most memorable experience in his life. We need more like him.

At least he can always say that he played in the NFL and for the Packers.

I agree with you. Whether a player is worthy of a roster spot or not, it is still something that they have worked and dreamed about. Never a happy moment. I wish him luck in the future.

It makes me sad to see jokes at his misfortune. Perhaps he will catch on somewhere else. Maybe he will discover his calling selling cartoon balloons in town.

Agree about the jokes. These are the same people with the elementary school sense of humor. They are the same people who made fat jokes about MM. It’s my opinion that people who make jokes about the misfortune of others have low self esteem themselves.
