Packers Question of the day - Final Thoughts for Jacksonville

It's Friday and fortunately, the work week is ending for the most of us. This work week culminating is much different from every other work week since January. Now, we have Packers football to look forward to every weekend (with the exception of the week four bye week) now through December and if they play their cards right, January as well.

The Packers will face an unfamiliar Jaguars foe. What're your final thoughts on this rare NFC versus AFC match-up and what are your predictions? Don't just give me final scores either. I want some stat totals, points in the game where one team will break away, setbacks - anything.

Jags win the toss and defer. We take the ball. Opening kickoff is out of the end zone. 1st play, Cook runs a seam route and draws down the safety while Jordy does a hitch and go for a 75 yard TD.

From there on, Packers offense dominates making the Jags play catch up. D gets decent pressure as the Jags resort to the passing game. This results in 4 sacks and 2 int's for the DB's

Martinez has people thinking Luke Kuechly. Hunley can't go so Callahan mops up in the 4th quarter with a TD pass of his own. Pack rolls 35-17.

I can't wait till Sunday. Though I do think this game maybe closer then what some might think it will be.

What i'm looking forward to seeing...

On offense -
-Nelson. How much of a boost does his return give the offense.
-Cobb, Montgomery return to health. Having the 2 most versatile players back healthy again should really open up the offense.
-Lacy. A determined and (forgive the pun) hungry Lacy, should make for a player that defenses will love to hate.
-Cook. Finally our offense has that matchup problem at TE. His size, speed should really help to open up the offense.

On Defense -
- Martinez. He looks like he could become a steal for the Packers. How does he perform.
- 2nd year CB's. The biggest jump a player makes is from year 1 to year 2. Do Randall and Rollins emerge as shutdown type CB's?
- Clinton-Dix. Does he take one more jump into a Pro Bowl caliber safety? If he does having a pro bowl caliber player at every level of the defense will make this defense very, very good.

I can't wait till sunday.

Agreed with all of your points RC, but IMO you forgot the youth at DL and LG. I'm wondering how those young guys will perform.

Going to the game Sunday! Can't wait!

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to seeing our LG position...

I am looking forward to seeing our young DL. I really think Lowry was a great pick.
Clark, i'm curious how his back is. And how he plays.

That's awesome. Enjoy it!

It seems like the Packers generally struggle with the trips to play teams in Florida.

Here are the last 3 games the Packers played in the state of Florida.

2014 @ Miami: (the fake spike game) Tannehill had the defense on its heels for a majority of the game.

2014 @ TB: They came out flat, and let the worst team in the league hang around. Rodgers hurt his calf and the team totally lost momentum going into the playoffs.

2009 @ TB: Josh Freeman torched the secondary late to get his first pro win.

I'm not sure if its the weather or off field distractions, but the Pack generally don't play their best in Florida. But with that said, its Jacksonville...

Jags cover the spread if not win outright. The offense still has a lot to prove. I know the Packer defense will keep the Pack in it but can the offense find rhythm? 20-17 PAck

Healthy offense means healthy rhythm... Rodgers throws 4 TD's in route to a 31-17 win

I think Blake Bortles threw the most interceptions last year , I think the Packers come away with a few Sunday ,the strongest part of the D may be the secondary.

If the Packers defense plays well, better than last year, and stops the run, we will win this easily. If the D gives up explosive plays, huge seams for their RB and we can't control the LOS, it will be a long struggle, where anything could happen late. I always hope for our defense to get better, but with Capers I'm always underwhelmed. I'd feel better if Clark were 100% healthy because I think our D-line is the weak link of that suspect 3-4 scheme.

Enigma game for me. Have no feeling or hunch. Feels like a trap game since schedule was announced. I mean Jags at home, finally on verge of being respectable, home crowd, heat, etc seems, all elements converging for very difficult day. At same time Pack could come out on fire and its a moot point. Hoping to see a huge day for Rodgers, Jordy and Cook, Secondary, Lacy and hell even special teams. GPG.

I think all of you who think that LG is the most important position in today's football will be disappointed...

I predict a big drop in DirecTv revenue since this game is on local network TV if your local team is playing later. You have until kickoff to cancel the package? Half the games are primetime or national this season, camel's back broken.

Tarynfor12, I'm glad I'm not betting, at least I don't think I am. This is how I would bet this game,
JAX +3 1/2 THE 1ST Half. GB -5 for the game, & just enough to cover on the Over 48. I'm trying not to think of it.
