Packers Calendar: First Training Camp Practice of 2013

Practice is scheduled to take place at 8:20 a.m. CT taking place at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay.

The wait is finally over. Football is upon us.

Taking place at Ray Nitschke Field in Green Bay will be the first Packers training camp practice of 2013, scheduled for 8:20 a.m. CT and open to the public, weather permitting.

The forecast calls for up to a 50 percent chance of showers on Friday, but only a five percent chance of precipitation between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., so there's a good chance the Packers will be able to get in their practice before any adverse weather hits the area.

Temperatures will be unseasonably cool, ranging from the mid- to high-60s during practice and a high of 71 degrees for the entire day.

If by chance any rainy weather hits the area during practice, the Packers may move practice inside the Don Hutson Center, which they typically close off to spectators.

The team will practice in shells with the first padded practice of the season not occurring until Sunday.

Friday will represent the first opportunity to see the team in action, but they'll be without the services of several players placed on the active/Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday.

Defensive lineman Mike Neal, running back DuJuan Harris, defensive lineman Jerel Worthy, offensive lineman Derek Sherrod, offensive lineman J.C. Tretter and safeties Sean Richardson and Chaz Powell won't be practicing until they pass a physical.

Linebacker Jamari Lattimore was also placed on the non-football injury list as well.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will hold his first post-practice press conference of 2013 immediately after the team's session is over, which will be streamed live at Packers.com.

On Friday evening, the Packers will also be hosting Movie Night at Lambeau Field, along with a Kids Run.

Admission to Movie Night is free and the Packers will be showing Wreck-It Ralph on the stadium's big-screen video boards.

The gates open at 5:45 p.m. with the movie set to begin at 7:30 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive a coloring puzzle with crayons.

Packet pickup for the Kids Run takes place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with the run to start at 6:00 p.m.
