The Packers announced promotions in the player personnel department.

After seven seasons as the director – football operations, he has been promoted to vice president of player personnel. Hendrickson, whose first NFL experience came as a training-camp intern for Green Bay in 2004, worked in the personnel department of the Baltimore Ravens (2005-18). So basically with the vacancy at the top with the departure of Jon-Erik Sullivan - everyone moves up one rung. That's a good organizational move. Internal promotions can boost morale and aid retention.

If Richmond Williams does as good a job as Director of Player Personnel - as he did with Pro Scouting - he will attract increased attention from other Teams.

Prediction - this will be Milt Hendrickson's last year with the Packers. He is definitely ready for the GM position (if he chooses).

I liked Sam Seale being awarded the Scout Emeritus position - "Senior National Scout."

Certainly the Packers are top heavy in experience - with many of the scouts having decades of experience. I wonder how the standard evaluation rubric now dovetails with the recent science of analytics.

"Certainly the Packers are top heavy in experience...."

Jon-Eric Sullivan only took one scout with him, Pro Scout Venzell Boulware. I never heard of Boulware, not particularly, until he left. I could not find an article about Boulaware in the Phinsider or Dophins wire, so the hiring of Boulware did not get much attention. Typically, a scout's contract runs until after the draft for obvious reasons, but despite not getting a higher job title in Miami (Boulware has the same title with the Dolphins), the Packers let him walk. GB might have let him go because Boulware is from southern Florida, and IIRC played with the Miami Hurricanes as an offensive lineman.

I do think going to Miami is a great opportunity for a scout because the roster is so limited that drafted players and UDFAs are going to at least get on the field early, and probably as rookies. Miami took massive (6'7" and 352 pounds at the combine) Kaydyn Proctor with the 12th pick in the first round. Proctor was a LT for Alabama. That is right up Boulware's alley. Proctor is not a zone guy and was the 4th tackle in CHTV's draft guide. The Dolphins also selected OG DJ Campbell in the 6th round (200th pick). Our draft guide listed Campbell as the 23rd best OG and Draftek ranked Campbell as the 197th best prospect.

The bottom line is that one of Gute's inner circle guys left and took a low level scout with him. All those remaining went up a notch, and the Packers will probably sign another Pro Scout to replace Boulware after the draft. It means that the Packers probably are not going to try to pilfer a highly-thought-of guy from another franchise to replace Sullivan. I don't know, maybe there is no one out there who is suitable to replace Sullivan.
