Let's not count out Reggie Begelton from the CFL.

This is true but he should at least be in the conversation. Many articles that I have read don't even mention his name.

Ricky Wagner has a cap hit of $4.8M for 2020.
Bryan Bulaga has a cap hit of $4.8M for 2020.
GB could have afforded Bulaga. The difference is that GB didn't trust Bulaga's body to hold up. Bulaga got $19.25M fully guaranteed, so it would be extremely difficult to cut him after one year. Bulaga's cap number is $11.08M in 2021, but the cap is supposed to increase quite a bit for 2021. It might also be that Gute thinks Wagner will rebound and be only a minor downgrade from Bulaga.
