Great job Gutey! Getting a 5th round pick in 2026, AND a 6th rounder in 2027, is fabulous value for a BACKUP WR. Wicks wasn't a starter, he was a fill in when someone was hurt. This has been a very interesting off season, and I don't think we are done by any means. I am predicting Musgrave to be the next trade. And maybe in a surprise trade with the Giants for Dexter Lawrence. Wyatt & a 7th rounder, or Wyatt and Musgrave, for Lawrence, would fill a huge need @ DT. Neither trade changes comp picks either.
In reality, Wicks was an average NFL backup WR. He had a few good games, he also was invisible for a number of games. And I am not worried about replacing his meager production, Gutey drafted 2 WRs in the 1st & 3rd rounds last year because he saw the scenario of 2 WRs leaving one way or another this off-season.
Williams is a strong candidate to replace Wicks snaps. And the 2 practice squad WRs, Neyor and Shephard, are bigger and have more talent/potential than Wicks had coming to GB. Maybe we draft one late. My guy is Jeff Campbell-Cinn. 6'5 215 4.31 40. Amost a Watson clone.
Gaining pick #153 could very well allow us to upgrade another player who won't be re-signed, Luke Musgrave. If we can replace a 39 catch a year WR, Then we can trade/replace a 25 catch TE who can't block. This could be a great opportunity to draft Dallen Bently, Sam Roush, or Tanner Koziel. It would be almost like trading Wicks for a #2 T

Wonder if Wicks, who was being touted as a potential breakout player the past 2 seasons, is one of the players who did not grade LaFleur very highly after career lows in catches & yards despite Watson & Reed missing extensive time last season?

Pretty sure even with Eagles primary run game.... Wicks will look much better there than he ever did here. ML has a limited imagination...so less personnel to feed the ball the better....I'm good with what we got as long as we pass it a lot more...like 20% more...we have the QB / RB / WR'S and TE for it....If we only had a HC who could game plan 4 QUARTERS of OFFENSE. Maybe if we get another Vet DL from NY we could stop the bleeding and give the ball back once in a while....NO,NO that's exactly what we should do.

This trade feels like a move for long term efficiency. Wicks had potential but lacked consistency., so it makes sense if Green Bay is reallocating resources to more reliable options.
