Backup QB will have produced more silly rumors before the draft than any other position. The articles and podcasts are coming fast and furious. We need to sign Cousins, or trade for Richardson, or draft Taylen Green. Why do we need to invent a problem that doesn't exist. we have 2 young, talented, decent backups already on the team who 1/2 of the league would be thrilled to have right now. Cousins is gone-thank God. Richardson is a bust, and he and Green barely complete 50% of their passes. Is it their running ability that infatuates people? Neither is good enough to get on the field let alone run the ball. Leave backup QB alone, spend the pick on a player that has an actual chance to make the team. Draft Jaden Dugger-LB with that 7th round pick.
RB can be addressed almost anytime before the season. There are always cheap productive RBs available, though it's too bad because we had one in Wilson. It was a dumb move and created another hole that GB didn't need because they have plenty now. I have a bad feeling that Gutey has made up his mind that if Washington is available at #52, he will select him. I hope he is gone because if we pick him, that will really limit who GB can pick to fill actual holes. The quality of player goes down nevery round.
Singleton-Penn State or Randall-Clemson would be better picks later. I would sign a FA bridge RB and push this need to 2027. Plus drafting one next year keeps a big can of worms from opening with Jacobs. He won't be happy he is being replaced.
Wait until 2027 when we have all those picks in a much stronger draft. Get a starting Edge with #52 and a potential starting CB with #84. The trade back from #120 for extra picks and upgrade weak position groups like OL, TE, CB, & WR.
