Enjoyed the light breakfast of banter, topics and Murphy's presser. It's apparent that the Packers have not become unglued over this Rodgers fiasco, and, are just waiting to see how far Rodgers is ready to walk his talk.

A correction - one of the hosts stated that Rodgers has not said anything to the media. Actually, Rodgers was interviewed by Kenny Mayne - when he spoke (cryptically and nebulously) about his outstanding issues relative to the Packers. However, he said nothing to allay all the controversy, rumors and speculation swirling about the GBP - which is the typical passive-aggressive m.o. of Rodgers.

I think the packers are putting on a good face. Come June 8th we will see if that good face starts to frown. I say beautiful mind guy doesnt show up and doesnt call in either.
June 9th Gutt or Murphy should be calling and saying you playing or what. Time to stop the non sense and get a yes or no.
I say if Rod so calls retires then you can trade him mid season to someone in need to after the season and before the draft for picks.
The irony is if Love sucks the value of Rodgers goes way down since the bidder knows your despirate. If Love has a decent year, the value of Rodgers goes way up as in we dont have to let him go for nothing.

I don't think that the collective perspiration level is very high with Packers management. Nor do they feel that they are backed into a corner with Rodgers demands (whatever they may be?). I can see management practicing syllogism - logical deductive reasoning which forms a conclusion over a period of time. If so, resolution to this faux conflict may not be immediately apparent . Certainly the upcoming mandatory camp will provide management with some additional information, as to Rodgers intent. However they will probably need more before they commit to a course of action.

If Rodgers isn’t there a series of fines will be applied, just like any other player. The amount is pointless, the organization has the right to do it. That lays groundwork for suspending him at some point, If he retires, it saves us how much?

Demovsky had a recent piece on this, and he’s got front row access to the people involved, says Rodgers is done in GB... I’ve thought this from the beginning.

As a football fan, I sure hope he doesn’t retire, but I also don’t want him playing for us when he doesn’t want to. I’d still rather get trade value, but if he wants to retire, fine. We’ll go with Love and Bortles.

Exactly my thoughts as well.

He’s communicated his desire to not play in GB. That being the case, well, the bridge is already crossed. No going back. Trust is broken.

He’s either for us, or against us.

On another level, I suspect all of this has to do with his wanting to start a family in Colorado. Takes venom out of the equation, hopefully replaced with understanding & acceptance from the fan base.

I don’t think there’s any chance he plays again for us, and as a fan, I’m just going to continue supporting the team the way I’ve done my whole life. Jordan Love might actually wind up being a better QB for this time in Packers history.

Virtually zero wasted time. 1 year to get his bearings. Completely open and excited to follow his HC’s instruction, with a team surrounding him loaded with talent.

The value of Rogers to any team is simply the value of Rogers.

Rodgers made this simple. He asked for a trade. Management wanted the mind games. And the biggest thing Rodgers needed to do was keep his mouth shut. Rodgers will be damaged goods after this bout. His conscience won't be CLEAR. His emotional status to win here, is GONE. They have disrespected him. Picked his mind. And attacked him with assumptions and leverage. Rodgers has a target on his back. It's the split in the fan base that believed in the lies. And made him into something other then a NFL QB. Truthfully Rodgers won't have a better opportunity to walk away from everything. And tell the Packers to Kiss off.

Murphy's comments were "interesting". Not for what he said, but the positioning within his article. (More like a rant honestly) Outside that, to expect other the company line at this point would be delusional. One important point made clear, is that Brian Gutekunst is the Man at 1265. I presume Murphy is speaking for the Executive Committee on this. This all could get pretty ugly pretty soon.

Does anybody monitor comments on this website to exclude solicitations to "earn money at home" or whatever? It would improve the website.
