I hope your correct Aaron, but until I see some improvement in their defense I still think the Packers come up short of the SB. Packers are just not a physical aggressive group on Defense, they will have trouble keeping opponents offense off the field. Very much like it was last season. I hope the new Defensive coordinator proves me wrong.

GO PACK GO..!!!!

Hey Nags. Thanx for your long-awaited season preview. Hate to disagree with you, but 12-5 is the BEST I can do. This is tougher schedule, no question. I think you're right about NOLA, but I'm afraid we will lose to SF, K.C., Seattle, L.A., & Ravens. If we have another hiccup, we finish 11-6. But I agree --- NO losses in Division and playoff bound Packers will make it to SUPERBOWL! At that point all bets are off. BUT, GPG!!

I'm going with 12 - 5 for this year. The Packers have achieved double digit wins in every season which Rodgers played the entire season without injury except for his first season as a starter in 2008. So one of the keys to the season will be for Rodgers and the Packers to remain relatively healthy. In addition to Rodgers the team is solid at RB, WR, TE and OLB.

The OL is a bit of a question mark until Bak returns. DL and ILB are still weak spots but we may see some level of improvement with our recent additions to both position groups. After Alexander CB is a question mark. Depth at Safety also a question mark until we see them play. Of course STs besides Crosby are still a major concern.

The Packers are solid enough to get through the regular season and win their division. The issue as usual will be the playoffs and will the Packers be able to raise their level of play to overcome their areas of weakness? Will our coaches improve pregame preparation and their in game coaching decisions? Can Barry's defense step up, make stops, and get off the field? Can our STs make a contribution or at least not contribute to losing the game? If the OL is solid our offense should score against anyone. Hopefully we reach the playoffs relatively healthy and go into the playoffs as a "hot" team. Answers begin to come this week.

Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

So well put 61! And as you said ,as usual it’ll be a question whether or not the team raises its level of play going into in AND through the playoffs and we know that means Defense primarily , but the crunch time offense as well

Agree Tundra -, not much has changed over the last decade. Hopefully this is the year we got over the top.
Be well. Thanks, Since '61

I like Slaton as a plug to free Clark as a three tech and letting Gary/Za take some five tech.DE sets away from Lowry , never letting Lancaster play DE and this D may survive third downs. LaFleur, hopefully has his head straight to be the HC during BIG GAMES and forget the offensive play caller bullshit. Keep the Focus on the Contest. Respect the moment. I have the Pack at 15-2 as long as the Fans stay out of the way--especially the lame-ass wave spectacle.

Without pinpointing a record, I think the range is between 12-5 and 14-3, and the greatest determinant will of course be injuries.

Despite the uncertainty in the OL, our offense should be dangerous, potentially even more potent than last year given the upgrade in our "skill player" weapons.

To me, the biggest variable will be our defense, and its not as much about the parts as it is our new DC. I always thought that under Capers and Pettine the sum was less than the parts. If Barry can change that, watch out!

No one has any doubts that the Packers are a Super Bowl contender. As Since '61 pointed out, it's all about being the hot team in the playoffs. Fortune hasn't smiled on us since the 2010 season, but maybe this "last dance" will be the best!

Looking forward to the season!! GO PACK!!

Good stuff, Nags. I’m not as optimistic as you. Will still win the North, but see them falling short of the SB again. Concerns about the O-line, at least until Bak gets back, and I don’t trust the defense. Rarely do teams learning a new defense light it up in their first year in the new system, and Barry has yet to have success as a D-coordinator. Which means there will likely be 1 (or 2) games you expect them to win and they won’t. I’m going with 11-6.

That said, I hope I’m wrong and the Pack hoists the Lombardi Trophy in February! Go Pack Go!

12-5 is reasonable with what I see as a relatively difficult schedule. At SF will be tough. That defense should be good again if healthy. At the Cardinals is a tricky Thursday night game too. I have losses to SF, AZ, WFT, BLT and KC. 12-5 wins the North easily but I don't think they get a 1 seed and a bye. I think the 3 seed, possibly the 2. Has anyone else noticed 6 of their first 9 are on the road?? Not easy.

I have been telling my misguided and misfortune Viking fans for the past week the Packers will be 13 and 4.

My dad told me as a young man "it pays to be an optimist...pessimists are unhappy all the time, optimists are just disappointed once in a while.

Love the optimism, Nags. Best part is your reasoning makes good sense.

11-6, NFCN winners, 3 seed. Lose on the road in divisional round.

I’m with you on the regular season. This year we get luck on our side in the playoffs though. It is time.

Thanks for sticking your nose out there with the predictions. You missed a packer loss at MN. and the annual special packer screw up game where something like 6 missed field goals or 3 fumbles in a row happen and we lose. 11-6

14-3. There are very few teams on the schedule that I believe in - basically, the Ravens and KC. Rams? Stafford? Pfft. Whatever. San Fran? Arizona? Seriously, Arizona? I don't think so. Don't cheat yourself out of enjoying this year, because this team is better than anyone else in the NFC if the key players stay healthy. It will take some luck to stay healthy. It will take some development from some of the younger guys to make a Super Bowl run. But never forget that every veteran in that locker room knows the window closes next March 1st. They will rise to the occasion.
