I absolutely loved watching Willie! What a great player! Sad for those that didn’t get to see his greatness

My favorite from back in the day. I wore #24 for him and Willie Mays.

Loved watching Willie Wood play! One of the greats from the Packer's Golden Era under Lombardi. My condolences to his family and friends and please know that Willie lives on in the hearts of Packer fans everywhere.

Willie Wood was a hard nosed tackler, never missing an opportunity to hit, wrap up and take down a running back or a receiver.

Willie played football at it's finest, a true warrior on the field and always giving 100 % on every play.

Playing under Lombardi with all the football giants on those great teams Willie Wood was as formidable and fierce playing his position as any of his teammates.

RIP to a great Green Bay Packer.

I grew up watching Willie Wood and Herb Adderley play DB for the Pack. Both great, great players. RIP, Willie.

Like Leatherhead I also wore #24 for Willie Wood while I played safety for my HS team.

Willie was the best safety the Packers have ever had and one of the best to ever play the position in the NFL. He was never out of position and he was a sure tackler. Today's Packer DBs could a learn plenty by watching tape of Willie Wood playing safety and Herb Adderly playing CB, especially when it comes to tackling.

Thanks for all the great plays Willie and RIP. Since '61
