Exclusive Rights Free Agent Chris Banjo To Return To Packers

The special teams ace and backup at safety will return to Green Bay for a fourth season.

From Tom Silverstien:

Banjo played well in limited action in 2015, most notably in Week Three's showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is mostly known for his work on special teams, where he became an interagal part of Ron Zook's operation as the season went on.

As Tom indicates, he will be a restricted free agent next year, meaning the Packers can most likely keep him around at a fairly low cost for one more season if they so choose.

Good. Not too expensive. Core special teamer and valuable backup.

Valuable part of the team.

This is good. Hopefully not the "splash" in free agency TT was eluding to.

"Hopefully not the "splash" in free agency TT was eluding to."

If your word usage (eluding) was intentional, this is pretty funny... ;)

Not sexy, but smart moves. Especially Banjo.

Agreed. Banjo can actually play safety as well if needed. Easy decision.

Huge off-season for Ted Thompson so far. Lane Taylor and now this, wow. Wonder what the next move will be? Signing Rick Lavato to a long-term deal...? One can only hope. Fingers crossed we lock in Lavato or perhaps Ripkowksi long term in the near future.

Vikes picked up a 6'8 pro bowl lineman yesterday to help KEY FN WORD protect the QB. I can tell you who wants to win.
Mike wouldn't like the guy his arms are too long. He wants the 6'4 guys with short arms to run block.
