CHTV talks Rodgers and LaFleur's different takes on joint practices

Aaron chats with Drew & KB of 97.3 The Game about all the latest from Packers camp.

Earlier today, I chatted with Drew & KB of 97.3 The Game about all the latest from Packers camp, including the very apparent disconnect bewteen the head coach and the quarterback when it comes to the benefit of joint practices.

I agree with Aaron Rodgers. Joint practices may be fun and new to watch. But are they really valuable when they take away practice time from implementing a new scheme?

Not sure I know enough as to whether or not joint practices are good or bad for the team.

Aaron Rodgers is entitled to his opinion but so is the Head Coach. Sounds like ML likes the joint practices and they are here to stay.

So as long as ML is the HC it is his decision to make. Like it or not he is the boss and AR is just another highly paid employee.

Just different philosophies from two very smart people. I enjoy a good back and forth discussion when both people have the same goal...a better team.

Agreed. Just flipped on the NFL Network and Patriots and Lions are having a joint practice. Seems one of the best coaches in the history of the NFL supports the practice.

Yes, but they're not learning a new offensive scheme.

Not sure why that matters. You still line up your offense against the defense. Last week it was Packers D, joint practice it’s Texans D. I don’t think it stops anyone from learning new scheme. Heck, I think it might even advance the process.

Again, I don’t know enough about joint practices so maybe I’m wrong. Curious to hear why you think lining up against a different team makes a difference. It is practice and no one is keeping score.

I'd follow what the Patriots do:) They seem to know what works.

It must really suck to be a player like Rodgers and have every reply and answer get dissected. Here is the headline that the great internet troll, Florio of Pft, gave his story, "Aaron Rodgers’ criticism of joint practices amounts to criticism of Matt LaFleur".

/facepalm

Rodgers should just ask the interviewer what reply will get rid of him/her the fastest. I'd be totally done with them all.

It is a criticism of the coach’s decision and, therefore, the coach. I don’t think “criticism” is an incorrect term in this case. If AR doesn’t want all his comments dissected, he could just stay away from these topics in front of the press. If he wants to be totally frank and tell it the way he sees it all the time, he’s going to have to live with the fallout.

egbertsouse,

"Fallout?" What fallout?

Some media hack's attempt to keep his name at the top of the "clicks" list?

The headline was just crap. That there is fallout is crap. And that people buy in is also crap. But it pays the "reporters" salary.

Read the whole quote. He has an opinion, he states it. He does not criticize ML. He states a preference.

Hey Egbert, you should look up the definitions of the words

"opinion"
"disagreement"
"criticism"
