If the Packers play mistake free football and get off to a quick start the Packers win, after all the Packers not the Titans have the best player on the field, Aaron Rodgers.

I would add (in order of importance) a) stop the run b) control time of possession c) force a couple of turnovers d) special teams do a reasonable job of kick and punt coverage.

There's been scant evidence against good teams that they can do any of the above very well or consistently. What has changed for the better defensively since the blowout in last years NFC Championship game? Titans 28, Packers 17

I certainly hope that I'm wrong!

I agree all those are key, but the additional factor where we haven’t done well has been pressure without the need to blitz. To me, that is the big question on offense against this defense.

I am curious to see how Dillon is used or if we just rely on Jones (I hope not as this game isn’t the be all and end all). Perhaps Austin can be a factor too. That will play in to how well we can control the clock on offense.

The true critical question is whether we can contain the run, and whether Pettine will go heavier on the D line and towards 2 ILBs or simply continue his standard light personnel and hope. If he stays light I think we can be certain that he will never find a match up sufficient to merit adapting in his eyes.

Simple, hold Henry to under 20 carries and the Packers win......easier said then done thou.

It's a good first step...but not necessarily true murf....

Even if Henry only gained 60 yards, he's first priority for the defense.
Don't forget, the Titans can pass the ball also.

They also have been willing to run Henry when behind. If your back is good enough, that rule of thumb tends not to apply, especially with a play action team. So keeping him under 20 means either our D has an unforeseen blinder or our O holds the ball and dominates time of possession.

Never know but Titans are 1-4 when he doesn’t get 20 carries.

Ok...so, what are we looking at...in realistic perspective.
.
The Packers are 1-2 against teams with winning records. So what does that mean?
That means that 10 of the Packers wins came against losing teams.
That's a lot to take in (ignore)...i get it.
.
First....i'll stick to the Mantra of on any Sunday.
After that....2 words come to mind.

After watching the video, a number of the staff noted that the Titans defense isn't very good.
Newsflash: I don't think Pettine's defense is keeping Off. Coordinators up at night. Both defense's give up about the same amount of PPG.
.
The Packers defense have beaten 10 teams, with losing records...MANY of which rank at or near the bottom on offense, like the last 3, 4 weeks. This years defense gives up more points than last years defense, even with that schedule.
.
A few of your staff have kicked their kool aid addiction.
The best chance is cold...and/or snow. Mother nature.

The Packers D has been a lot better than that of the Titans statistically, of course we haven’t been good against teams that can really run and can get the ball back from our O.

Relax PF4, Titans record against winning teams, 3-3. Does that really prove they are "better" than the Packers? Not to me.

A quick bit of research on our NFC rivals, and as of this morning what are the Saints or the Bucs records against teams that currently have a winning record?

Saints 2-2
Bucs 1-4
Seahawks 2-3
Rams 3-2 .... now that looks good. Oh wait, they lost to the Jets last week. So maybe they are flawed too.

Does that make you feel any better?

Did i say they were better?
If i need someone to speak "for me"
i'll keep you in mind.
If you want to dispute any real facts i laid out. Bring it. Otherwise========8
.
To me, a team who has beaten 3 winning teams, looks more proven than a team who has only beaten one. But your the big man around here...so you must be right.....right?

.
Maybe you should relax, not speak for others, just keep chugging that kool aid.

"kool aid" is such a tired, lame phrase. Can't you come up with something new?

By the way, the proper spelling is "Kool-Aid". Seems like you need someone to speak for you so that your speech will be correct.

No spell checking involved. Just pointing out that you should not expose your stupidity when trying to be a smart aleck to another commenter.

NitschkeFan did not attack you in any manner, but you thought that you would try to be cute and attack him. You failed, and exposed your idiocy in the process.

Except of course, when you were spell checking.

While I would LOVE a blow-out in favor of Green Bay, I think there is a LOT going against Green Bay in this game. First, it's a night game and Pack typically don't fare well at night. Second, it'll be a National TV audience - and Packers have a way of buying into the hype of their own press releases and coming out flat in big games. That said, it'll be cold and I think the Pack will play good enough in first half to get maybe 13-10 or 14-7 lead (one score) - especially if they don't throw that stupid lateral to Adams play and incorporate more jet sweeps, slants, and running game to keep Titans off balance. Then, after half - I see the Packers coming out flat; and without making ANY adjustments, I think the Pack Defense will be on the field - a lot. And that is bad because of Derick Henry and the running game. I already feel the Packers' defense isn't very interested in tackling - and I don't see them stopping the run in the second half. And finally, even if Packer's do build a big lead - they will let Titans back in the game regardless. I just think Titans are too dangerous running the ball AND having a lot to play for. But I am hoping for a Christmas miracle finish on a long field goal by Crosby with time expiring for Packer's win 30 to 28. What I do know for sure is we'll be sweating this one out - so you better make some extra Old Fashioned for this one!

The Rams beat the Seahawks, and next week we beat the Bears. This weeks loss won’t matter.

The Rams will not beat Seattle. Packers will not beat the Titans. It's going to be Packers- Bears for the 1 seed.

Derrick Henry will get his yards vs. our run defense. I'll predict 150 rushing yards for him...my concern is they'll control time of possession, keeping Rodgers off the field and out of rhythm.

AJ Brown also presents a match-up nightmare. He's 6'0" and 227 lbs. Kevin King is 6'3', but only 180 lbs. You're talking a 50 lb. difference there! And Jaire Alexander is 5'10" and 196 lbs, so not much better either, but I'd put Jaire on Brown. King keeps getting picked on.

Packers 38, Titans 35 in a wild one

FYI Rush and Price both active , so there is some beef for the D line.

Maybe best post in this thread!

Load up on the beef upfront. Let's see how we do against their road grade blockers.

Being active doesn’t mean Pettine will actually utilize them on D for a meaningful number of snaps. One can hope

Lots of 3 man DL's so far so I expect the Packers to use more than their usual number of defensive linemen.

IMO this game comes down to how well the Packers offense can control the ball. IIRC the Packers lead the league in TOP. We know Tenn wants that, but if the offense has the ball alot Henry and Tannehill are on the bench sitting around getting cold. This game rides on the Packers offense more than it does the defense!

I totally agree. Our offense has to bring their ball control offense. I don’t see our defense stopping 22. He gets his yards against everyone. When he gets off, so does their PA game. GB must control the ball.
