Billy Turner dealing with knee injury

The right tackle will most likely miss the Week 1 showdown with the Vikings.

From Rob

Turner's injury comes on the heels of Billy Wagner's left arm injury, though Wagner returned to practice this past weekend after missing several days.

With Rob's report mentioning that Turner's availability for Week 1 is unlikely, the team will undoubtedly see if Wagner is good to go during the rest of the week.

If they determine that Wagner can't go, they could always try sliding Lane Taylor over to right tackle and inserting Lucas Patrick at right guard.

The one obvious move the team could make if they deterime they don't like any of their options at tackle is to call Jared Veldheer who has seemingly spent the last several days hitting "Like" on any Tweet that mentions his possible return to Green Bay.

We'll see what shakes out over the next few days.

Wagner and Turner out for week 1? Or at least rusty. Against that pass rush. Assuming Hunter plays, that is a BIG Vikings advantage.

Wagner's been back at practice since Aug 28th, so he will have had plenty of time to round into shape, assuming his left arm holds up.

Phew. Hopefully he holds up... if it does... I do wonder if Turner gets cut? Or would that only be helpful to the cap if he was cut before week 1? TGR any thoughts?

Swallow your pride, admit your mistakes.

Bring in Veldheer to protect the franchise.

I'd Let Jon Runyan play it. When MM was coach. The Zone blocking was set up for Bulaga to play RT first. Yes he stayed there. But I'll bet Runyan will play it much better then Spriggs did. And who knows.

Good thing they drafted a promising young OT in this years draft..Oh wait. But they brought in a steady healthy replacement for Bulaga, right, oh? If anything happens to 69 and he’s out for any extended time, this season’s over.

Who was your guy at #26? Jackson went to Miami @ # 18. Then it was nada. Jones will be moved to guard.

Didn’t have to be at 26. Jones you already referenced. Cleveland could have been an option. Niang out of TCU had 975 pass block snaps and allowed 0 sacks since 2017. I would prefer to see management swing on a guy like that than an over-drafted H-Back in the third round.

Runyan played tackle at Michigan and looked pretty solid. They should get him ready if both of these guys can’t go. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him hold his own. They could also move Taylor to tackle and let Patrick or Runyan play guard. Runyan did stuff Chase Young last year so this dude can ball.

I like Veldeer a lot but he would essentially be coming in cold or "off the couch" as many like to say.....no camp, maybe he doesn't need it but, that match up looks shakier by the day....

First Martin, then Wagner and now Turner. When the God of Injury makes a house call he doesn't fool around... :-(
