Watson just can’t stay on the field. Two years in a row missing multiple games. He hardly played in the preseason to avoid just this situation, yet here we are. Frustrating.

It is frustrating, but just one more reminder.. Packers fans wanted to ship out Davante Adams in his first 3-4 seasons for the exact same reason- he can't stay healthy, he can't catch the ball, etc and so forth.

It's football, players go through injuries. You just have to give them time and see how their bodies respond. Watson is far too talented to turn our backs on.

Understanding is that Jones and Watson COULD play, but they're trying to get them back close to 100% for Thursday v. the Lions.

Thursday games are an abomination.

In the grand scheme of things, it's more important to beat the Lions than the Saints. Beating the Lions puts us in first place in the division regardless of what happens today.

We have injuries. It's part of football. Other people are hurt, too. It's why depth is important....it's not all just playmakers.

I don't know why our pass rush wasn't effective last week, but it seems key in this matchup.

Dobber we agree that TNF is an unnecessary abomination/money grab for the owners. I would not rush either player back to play in a TNF game. They'll be ready to play when they're ready and they should be allowed to return when they're 100% ready to go and not sooner. Why risk ruining their seasons if they return to play too soon? I think that we need two things to happen - we need better strength and conditioning programs as we seem to have too many of this type of injury - hammies. I think that the team philosophy is too strict - 100 % - who is 100 % after the preseason workouts and practices and every game in the regular season. Also TNF should have been a fight with the union - if they say that player safety is paramount - money is paramount. If they want TNF - they needed to lengthen the season so that every team goes into a TNF game after a bye - even if it meant adding week to the schedule ( maybe one week earlier start) and adding an extra bye week. You would thing that some computer schedule genius could work that out. But to play 2 games with only 3 days after their previous game is kind of insane if looking at the health of the players.

Exactly what Bakh says, the league talking about player safety is insincere as long as they're playing on top of concrete.

But putting a player back in after an injury that's known to get worse is not good strategy when it's currently minor. Hamstrings should get better not worse. Maybe JB is not the first coach who should be replaced. Maybe our strength and conditioning coach is doing everything right, but I seriously doubt it.

Nothing can be done about health of players. It's a full contact sport.

The silver lining is this is yet another opportunity to develop the youth that potentially is the future of the team. See what they do well, learn from what they don't.. it all helps the development of the team for the long term, and game day experience now can lead to massive returns down the stretch if they are called upon later in the season.

I disagree that nothing can be done about injuries, especially a rash of hamstring injuries. I've seen exercise make all the difference in the world, and hamstrings and shoulders are at the top of the list.

Something needs to be changed.

Not trying to be rude, but the Packers have had hamstring injury bug through two entirely different regimes and training staffs.. and the Packers training and medical staffs are generally well-regarded across the league.

Every team has players with soft tissue issues. It's not like the Packers aren't having their guys stretch. It is what it is.

GREAT WIN!!

Poor game. Great first defensive series. GREAT fourth quarter. In between? Lots of problems. I'm not saying our players were perfect, but I see them outperforming our coaches and by a wide margin.

Still, being behind all game and winning by one point in the fourth quarter vs having a lead all game and in the fourth and losing by a point? GPG! JL10 led his first fourth quarter comeback, I think it matches the biggest for GB ever, and his air raid "only" got burned with one interception. I do want to see a more balanced attack and less hero ball, but 2-1.

VIikings lost, Lions won. Thursday! No new injuries? How's Valentine?

Dolphins put up a ridiculous 70 points, holy cow.

In case anybody is wondering - why are teams are not paying big money for running backs any more . Jones is out and now has missed two games in a row. Barkley is out , Chubb is out , Eckler is out. It is bad enough that we have a lot of salary sitting on the sidelines with Bak and Jones and AR ( dead cap) but those teams that dont adapt by playing their walk ons and 6th and 7 rounders - dont succeed. Now we have Wilson who has shown that he can break the big one - so lets get him more reps. We know what Taylor has done because he has had snaps before. So lets get Wilson extra snaps through better game planning and having him out in space. It is time for Lafleur to earn his salary and his reputation ( because so far his winning record were because AR - many people argue).

Wilson got one chance and blew it with a short pass back to JL10. #28 is doing well but MLF's use of him is still questionable; too predictable and their D is adjusting very quickly.

Get #31 Wilson some more runs!

First few possessions were not that surprising; we got a three and out due to our pass rush, our O was totally outclassed, then Saints got a TD. I didn't really expect them to get that so quickly.

Not fond of the early 4th down call to go for it.

I guess the "LaFleur isn't aggressive enough" crowd should be happy they got what they wanted.

Offense was just a beat off in the first half, now looks lost in the second.
Packers defense actually hasn't been horrible. Not great, but they're right there. Just need to make a play.

Hopefully someone pulls it together.

And it seems to be the reasoning behind not giving #31 Wilson more runs. Even though #28 is doing well, MLF is using him too predictably and NO D is adjusting quickly. That one mistake is no reason not to have him run, enough to keep NO guessing.

I agree 100% with this.

It seemed like MLF was listening to the loud Packers fans' complaints about not "playing to win" and not being "aggressive" like the Falcons were last week, and his mission was to prove he IS an aggressive play caller on offense.

A shame- because IMO, LaFleur's "aggressive" playcalling on 4th down(s) robbed the Packers offense of 6 pts, broke any chance of establishing offensive momentum early, and also led to helping put the Saints' offense in stellar starting field position that led to the the first offensive touchdown by the Saints.. the ONLY offensive touchdown by the Saints.

This game could have looked entirely different had MLF played with his head instead of his heart.

In the end, it worked out, and the team is better for it.. but yeah... PUNT THE BALL.. especially in a 0-0 game.

A swing pass on 3rd and long is a terrible playcall.
Except when it works.
Tight end down the seam vs cover 2 is a great playcall.
Except when it’s overthrown.

What I’m getting at here is execution. Complaining about playcalling is like blaming the meteorologist for the rain. Lame.

There are n number of issues with the team coaching is of this main problem is coaching they play soft and the issues continue every yr not a single thing changed.

This would be the game to play off and the 2nd half proved that out. I don't understand playing off for average QBs but the rush came through...which lends itself to playing it closer.

Are you kidding? Injuries??
Starting with the championship game against SF in 2021 and including today’s likely outcome MLF is 8-12… including a horrible loss to Detroit that cost a playoff berth.
We are totally out coach on both sides of the ball week after week.
BTW .. there is a difference between a fan and a cheerleader.

No there is a difference between being a good fan and a fair weather fan like you. Been a Packer fan since 1958 and have never been fair weather I suppose always have hope and if not good see improvement. Have seen both sides and middle of Packers since 1958 and it is only a game to enjoy good or bad. Everyone says how great QB Starr was but his coaching is hardly ever mentioned in comparison!

There is little doubt we'll come out throwing if we intend to get back in this. I don't think the guys we have can protect Love. For his part, for the first time in his career, Love is coming out on that field and has to deliver. He's the starting QB and there are zero points on the board.

I was not fond of the playcalling today at all.

They persevered regardless of the play calling.

I think MLF is a better coach than most give him credit, but today.. MLF was making it really hard on the offense.

Agreed. Pretty amazing there weren't more interceptions. Would have liked to have seen more high probability plays especially passes to Musgrave and RBs.

Trying to run it and then you do basically the same thing two and three times in a row; that's never going to work against a defense like this.

I agree, there was zero attempt to get Love into a rhythm. One thing we know about Love at this point is it takes him a few drives to get in sync with the offense.

MLF took early drive success and destroyed momentum with poor 4th down decisions instead of taking the FGs and building off the success; then he started running an air-raid offensive instead of allowing Love to get into a groove with high percentage passing and a balanced attack.

Luckily, it worked out and Love found his sweet spot regardless- bu MLF did little to help him out today. A total turn around from the first two games of the season where I felt MLF's play calling was very positive.

All in all, today could have been a debacle, but it turned into a solid character-building win that will help this young team grow, with a lot of ugly to highlight and learn from.

Over half of the penalties are non-action penalties. Illegal motion, unsportsmanlike, illegal formation. That is just poor coaching, lack of discipline, plain old bad football. We can blame Barry, but the buck stops with PePe LeFleur. Up to NINE penalties with nine minutes left in 3rd quarter. Unacceptable.

It's too bad very few people had the balls to comment on every ball the other guy threw that was at a player's ankles, behind the WR, under thrown forcing the target to stop, or the horrible screen pass thrown as a bullet that made it virtually un-catchable.

Love was throwing consistently behind the WR. There is another later by someone asking if WRs caught any contested balls. There were so many contested ball, not by design, simply because Love was off target most of the game.

But finally got it under control soon enough to win the game.

This was right after they drove into the red zone but MLF declined to take the FG yet again.. but the Offense was starting to move the ball and the defense was stone walling the Saints' offense.

Spidey senses were tingling. :)
