The Green Bay Packers have traditionally been in the top tier of NFL teams when it comes to available cap space in the Ted Thompson era. But with several high-priced contracts kicking in this year it will be difficult to maintain that status in 2016.
Approaching the 2013 NFL Draft General Manager Ted Thompson was faced with needs at the key positions of defensive line and running back and a philosophy of taking the best players available. Thompson seemed to accomplish both.
Training camp always brings a little bit of youthful optimism; not only are young players overly optimistic about their chances in the NFL, but coaches, front office executives, fans and media alike all chatter about how player X is ahead of the curve/looking like a veteran/going to be the next superstar.
