Rams Re-Sign DT Gary Gibson

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the St. Louis Rams have re-signed veteran defensive tackle Gary Gibson to a one-year contract.

Signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent from Rutgers in 2005, the 6-3, 285-pound Gibson signed with the Rams last season, starting five games and totaling 11 tackles before landing on injured reserve with foot and ankle injuries.

Not eligible for unrestricted free agency following the 2009 season, the Rams did not tender a qualifying offer to Gibson.

Prior to joining the Rams, Gibson totaled 10 tackles in 12 games for the Carolina Panthers between the 2007-08 seasons, finishing the 2008 season on IR, as well. Gibson did not appear in a game in two seasons with the Ravens, the first of which was spent on injured reserve.
