MRI Confirms High Ankle Sprain for Bills OT Ed Wang

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports that an MRI on Sunday confirmed the initial diagnosis that Buffalo Bills fifth-round offensive tackle Ed Wang suffered a high ankle sprain on Saturday morning.

Florio was the first to report the initial diagnosis on Saturday afternooon, after Wang injured his lower left leg in a collision with a teammate during a pass play in an 11-on-11 drill on Saturday morning.

Wang was carted off the field and helped into the trainer's room. Bills head coach Chan Gailey told the media after Saturday's afternoon practice that he hoped they hadn't lost Wang for the season, and is expected to provide an update on Wang's injury on Wednesday, the next day the first-year head coach is scheduled to address the media.

Normal recovery time for a high ankle sprain is four-to-six weeks, meaning Wang will likely miss the remainder of the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions, but should be ready for training camp.

Wang signed a four-year, $1.9885M contract, which included a $198,500 signing bonus, on May 27.
