Former Jaguars WR Reggie Williams to Tryout for Seahawks

Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Reggie Williams will tryout for the Seattle Seahawks during a three-day mini-camp next week.

Williams, the ninth overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington, caught 189 passes for 2,322 yards and 19 touchdowns during his five years with the Jaguars, who opted not to re-sign him following the 2008 season.

Williams was arrested twice last off-season, which helped keep him out of football through the '09 season. Williams was arrested in February for DWI and possession of marijuana, charges which were later dropped. In April, he was tasered after becoming combative at a Houston-area bar, and a small bag of cocaine was found in his pocket. Williams plead guilty to drug possession charges, and was sentenced to two years' probation, 120 hours of community service, and fined $200.

The 6-4, 212-pound wideout hopes to impress the Seahawks enough to secure a contract offer and a chance to make the team in training camp.
