Dez Bryant Visits the Patriots

Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant visited the New England Patriots, reports Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

Bryant, a 6-2, 224-pound receiver, is one of 30 draft prospects to visit the Patriots' headquarters before the 2010 NFL Draft. Bryant posted 87 receptions for 1,480 yards and 19 touchdowns during his last full season at Oklahoma State, and some feel he has more ability than San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

However, Bryant comes with ample baggage, on and off the football field.

There are questions about his work ethic, and Bryant lost his eligibility last season after lying to investigators about the purpose of his visit to the home of Deion Sanders, who has a close relationship with player agent Eugene Parker.

Bryant chose Parker to represent him.

Bryant tweaked his hamstring prior to the 2010 Scouting Combine, and didn't exactly dazzle NFL scouts during his pro day workout in Lufkin, Texas. At that workout, Bryant ran a 4.52 time in the 40-yard dash, posted a 38" vertical jump and an impressive 11'1" in the broad jump, but scouts widely panned the workout, which may explain why Bryant, who has Top 5 talent, has been making the rounds with teams who have picks in the late stages of the first-round, like the Patriots (22nd), Cincinnati Bengals (21st), and Dallas Cowboys (27th).
